Sims 2 Legacy Edition bug: Notifications for vacation day use

I've encountered a really weird bug on the new legacy edition of sims 2. Was playing the Curious house and one of the brothers didn't go to work. there was a notification that he has used a paid vacation day, and that his new total would be 0. However that notification repeated over, and over and over and over again, literally without stopping and the boxes cannot be closed. Exiting to neighbourhood and loading in again didn't work, neither did restarting the game. I have uninstalled now and am hoping I don't run in to this again as it makes it basically unplayable! 

Also spotted that any time you go in or out of an occupied lot, you get the gift computer from that dude. Weird.

• any troubleshooting steps you’ve already tried (like restarting your device): Have restarted game, restarted device. Uninstalled game as last ditch so I can go in with a clean save file.
