step 1 : copy all the files from the dvd on your computer in some folder, like "C:\Users\\Documents\Sims 2" for the sake of example
step 2 : open cmd in administator mode
step 3 : type "C:\Users\\Documents\Sims 2\autorun.exe" and enter
at this point you should be able to install the game. once it's done, delete the "C:\Users\\Documents\Sims 2" folder to save space (did that for double deluxe, it was 4.2 gb !)
Note that this only works if you have the physical discs. This will not work if you are using the Ultimate Collection.
