The Sims 2 Legacy Collection

I couldn't be more disappointed. £25 for 'improved' abandonware. All these bug fixes that should've been done long before the game was re-released, not one of which by the way has actually done anything to further improve the quality of the game. I'm still crashing, I just lost a household I spent hours on despite saving SO MANY TIMES, due to one of the crashes. Not to mention having to turn certain other parts of the game off, such as shadows and reflections, to stop a different kind of crash as well. I understand that mistakes happen, but a multimillion dollar company can't fix a game from 21 years ago which somehow worked better in 2004 than it does now, and includes NEW problems? I'm all for innovation but new bugs isn't what I was thinking of. I'm convinced that almost every player has had problems with this game which is sad to say the least. If this was free, I'd still be upset but I wouldn't have much to complain about. However, I paid for this, I paid £25 for a game that I can't even play. I don't know if the developers are just given insane deadlines, or if the company doesn't care at all about customer satisfaction, especially considering what they're pulling with the Sims 4, but I'm almost impressed at how much has gone wrong, I don't think any other company has managed to achieve mixed reviews on the day of release as well as being infamous for having to update your game to fix past updates, and then update it again to fix the problems the new fix caused. EA, you have truly outdone yourself.

  • I will say that it def has been frustrating and I am sure the re-release of this game has been nothing but a headache for both sides if I am being fair. I can at least give some props to the community managers of the forum for responding to some of the issues users are having. I ultimately did have my game issue resolved within this recent game patch due to me giving them the necessary game info and files to look into. One thing I have noticed if I am being fair that some people who are voicing concerns and glitches / bugs are posting and when they do get a reply they are not following the directions or responding to people who can send info to get their issues resolved. I have on multiple occasions on a post that I sent out was told the info I needed to give and when I sent it all I was able to get the issue fixed. However, other people when asked to do that same even when given instruction still did not give the required information. So if I am being 100% transparent, I feel its issues on both sides of the spectrum on this one. I do agree however I wish they did take more time to address certain bugs or released at a lower price point since the game is practically almost abandonware. But I feel it is important to look at the issue as a whole as well.

Idk just some perspective I have seen. But I do feel your feelings are valid and I will say frustration is felt across the whole community. 😣 I just think one thing that has helped me is just reminding myself it is a process and that it does take time. But I will say even waiting for my issue with the game to be resolved it was frustrating because it really was that "what if" factor of if the game will even work.

But as I always will say "One step at a time..."

  • If I am given a solution, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try it before complaining, though I have not been given one so far. This wouldn't be such a big deal if it was EA's first mistake, but they have a terrible track record for messing up all of their games and honestly, scamming their customers. EA is a money hungry company that does not care about their customers, this is made obvious by their 'improvements' on the Sims 4. 92 paid DLC, a history of paying YouTubers to talk about their content, DLC that doesn't work and is still yet to be fixed years later, and now a re-release of abandonware from 2004 that is hardly playable.
