If I am given a solution, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try it before complaining, though I have not been given one so far. This wouldn't be such a big deal if it was EA's first mistake, but they have a terrible track record for messing up all of their games and honestly, scamming their customers. EA is a money hungry company that does not care about their customers, this is made obvious by their 'improvements' on the Sims 4. 92 paid DLC, a history of paying YouTubers to talk about their content, DLC that doesn't work and is still yet to be fixed years later, and now a re-release of abandonware from 2004 that is hardly playable.
