The Sims 2 Legacy crashes and unresponsive on launch in Steam

Hi, my PC specs are Ryzen 9 5900X, 64GB RAM, Asus Dual RTX 4060 8GB. When I try to launch the game, it just sits on unresponsive and it crashes. My screen gets very large and I need to restart Windows to fix my 1920 x 1080 display. The Sims 1 has no issues but has tiny buttons. Please fix this issue EA or I will request a refund via Steam!

    I found this on Reddit: "open steam. select game properties. at startup options type -w."
    It works for me.

    I canceled my refund request because I saw that EA are looking into the issues. I'll wait to see what they do then I'll decide.

    -w is not working for me, and nothing else seems to be working. i bought the sims 2 yesterday (fully knowing it was bugged tbh) but i cant even make it past the main menu
