The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection not Launching

Question

I just downloaded this game and I keep getting an error: "The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff" is the header and "The application has crashed." I have uninstalled and reinstalled once. I did try restarting my computer. Any help on what else I can do to try and get it up and running would be wonderful.

fluffybuddy12 Just to double check that this in fact not Legacy Collection; I've been going through lots of threads so I'd like to clarify before looking for solutions. If it indeed is the old Ultimate Collection, I can point you to some commonly recommended resources to fix the game and make it more stable.
