I played Sims 2 a few days ago - never played the game before - and this is exactly what I dislike about it. I like some features a lot (interactions between sims are much more challenging than they are in 3), but every time it becomes interesting my sim has to eat. It's so boring!
Sending my sims to the loo eight times a day just isn't my idea of enjoying a game.
