What does sims 2 have that is lacking in sims 4

I keep getting pleasant surprises seeing great animations and new little details. In Sims4, you can run through everything that is possible in one sitting, and then they all start to seem a bit like those toys that do a set number of things when you push different buttons: the play value is very limited. Sims4 sims are less like people and more like simple electronic toys.
