ORIENT EXPRESS WORLD COLLABORATION BUILDS ~Jan 2020 - Apr 2021 and Spring 2024
A custom world and community building project hosted by soocoolsim, featuring the Orient Express trains with destinations to London, Paris, Venice and the Alpine area. Each city includes a mix of residential and community lots reflecting popular landmarks and architecture for that city. World built by Jessabeans and edited/modified by KarilynMonroe2. This post features all the builds that I contributed to this project. 😄
***Builds are listed in descending chronological order.***

Georgian styled townhomes (shell built by Jessabeans) with 4 separate flats along the River Thames. One flat is fully furnished as a family home with 4 floors, a basement and a backyard. It includes a home gym, laundry, a children's playroom, an art studio and more. The rest are NPC homes.
Architecture was inspired by the real Blackfriars bar in London. You'll find two large bars with plenty of seating, a jukebox, arcade games and restrooms on the main floor. Upstairs is a gameroom with a self-serve bar, billiards, darts, more arcade games, foosball, a bubble machine, and karaoke machine.
Small park built for the London section. Features a children's playground, bbqs, picnic tables, soccer goal, horseshoes, portable nubb set, art easels, chess and restrooms (plumbing upgraded).
This Victorian styled fire house has 3 levels with plenty of bunk space and lots of activities for the firemen in their off time. Everything upgraded.
A place to shop in Paris for all your grocery needs, including fresh produce and fresh food to grab while you're shopping. A grocery rabbit hole is located in the basement, a break room and an office for the staff upstairs and a quaint cafe next door. Includes public restrooms. Jessabeans built the shell and I did the interiors and outdoor area.

This is just a rabbithole spruced up with some landscaping and outdoor objects.

Base shell was created by Jessabeans, and I designed and decorated the interiors of this luxury 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment on 2nd floor created for the Paris section. Street level has a dress shop, bathroom, an internet cafe, a residential entrance with a small gym, bike storage and a laundry room. 4 unfurnished NPC apartments are on the 3rd and 4th floors.
My version of the real life hotel in Venice. It served as homes to prominent Venetians in the 14th century before being converted to a luxury hotel in 1822. It's decorated in gothic Venetian decor and features a lavish hotel lobby, a tea room, a wedding venue, a games room, a restaurant, a spa, a library, a basement pool and gym, resort tower and 10 VIP guest rooms. I started this back in 2020 and just got around to finishing it up in 2024. It took a lot of research about this style and finding the inspiration photos to design the interiors from. You'll see the inspiration photos that I based this on in my photo album.
Venice Cruise Ship terminal with a cruise ship, which is minimally furnished with a few activities for sims (golf range, pool, bar, lounging area, a cafe, public restrooms and a furnished stateroom). The terminal/dock has a check-in area and upstairs waiting area, and next door is a cafe and public restrooms.

An EA rabbithole with some outdoor dining space and landscaping.
Italian styled family home with canal views built for the Venice area. Consists of 3 bedrooms (master, nursery and guest room), study, eat-in kitchen, formal living room, formal dining room, a basement with game room, tv area, gym, nectary, a courtyard pool and multiple balconies and patios.
The Venice Train Station is a port lot that's modeled after the real life modern styled version.
The lower level features the ticket machines, a services office (computers are not accessible and are just for show), retail shops (bookstore and gift shop with registers), a cafeteria offering several dining options (including buffet table, food register, croissant bar and bakery items), a pizza shop with food register (along with self serve snacks and snow cones), locker storage, a seating area by the ticket gates, vending machines, photo booth and restrooms. On the dock side there's an outdoor eating area that overlooks the canals.
On the upper level is a large eating area open to the below level, 2 lounges with computer stations (one with a bar and all-in-one restrooms and is accessed by interior stairs, and the other is accessed by an outside elevator that overlooks the trains). The ticket gates are color coded by ticket color.
Lot also has a subway and a houseboat (separate download for the houseboat).
I was going for more of a yacht style look with the open air seating on the main deck, so hope I pulled it off, haha. It has 3 decks -- the main deck has an outdoor seating area, with a bar and loungers and a skylight above. A small kitchen and dining area is enclosed and sits at the main entrance. A ladder from the kitchen leads up to the observation deck. Stairs on the main deck take you below deck where there's a cozy family room with tv, computer and bookcase, an all-in-one bath, laundry area, a small gym and a master bedroom with en-suite bath. All upgraded.
Benvenuto! Come dine with us for some pizza from our wood fired oven or some authentic Italian dishes from our Executive Chef's menu. Besides our indoor dining room, we also offer al fresco dining on our patio overlooking the canals in the Venice area. After your meal, head upstairs to our bar and game room for a bit of fun.

I only contributed one build for this area of the Orient Express, which was one of the trains.
The Alpine Express train was more of a rural train, so I did an auto carrier where you could purchase cars (uses the savvy seller's rugs underneath the cars to make them purchasable). Shell by romagi1 and redesigned by me.
