Here some pictures of Biddeford Pool which is a bit south of Old Orchard Beach, Maine and then some pictures of the beach area north of Old Orchard Beach called Cape Elizabeth
These are both places my kids did most of their growing up in Maine before we finally moved to New Hampshire Mountains. We actually lived in Old Orchard Beach but had good friends at both beach towns and both were beach walking distance from where we lived and would just walk to their houses to visit them or take the dogs for a walk along the beach. We hardly ever used a car - it was a walk or a boat ride everywhere. But the beaches as you can see in Maine look like your rocky beach.

By the way Pete said the worms I was talking about were called Sand Worms and Sea worms - depending upon who you talked to. Ah Yep - as the Mainers say. And no I don't have a Maine East or downeast accent like all my neighbors did - you can take the girl out of the south, but you can't take the South out of the girl. I have always kept my Southern accent - as people always know I am not from around here even though I have spent 40 years in New England. Guess when you are Southern born - you just stay Southern. hehehe
