Chapter 3.0 “If the Sun refused to Shine”
One day when I came home after visiting a school mate, coincidentally entering through the laundry room, I found Robert and Mother in what could only be more than a friendly embrace. An awkward scene at first, but after the momentary shock, I thought it to be a nice development in their relationship, maybe I suddenly got the father I never had before.

My 11 years birthday feel on a Saturday, we had invited David, Miss Loveless and some schoolfriends, there was sun and it was also raining a little, providing a nice rainbow.

David gave me a CD player as birthday present. Mother and Robert some CD’s and a lot of new clothing. There was an old Rock CD that Robert had from his father by a band called Led Zeppelin, too hard music for me in general, but there was one track that I loved right from the first second. It was called “Thank You”:
“If the sun refused to shine”
“I would still be loving you”
“When mountains crumble to the sea”
“There will still be you and me”
Mother and I was dancing to that song, long after everyone had gone home.

When I went out to take a walk with Muddi later that night, I sensed that this was the beginning of a brand new and different chapter of my life. I felt young, strong and very happy. Maybe I found the missing piece or maybe it had found me.

It would not be many weeks after that, before Mother and Robert was an official item. The old single beds were thrown out and in came a double bed. Robert focused on his paintings that was undeniably getting better all the time. Mother was working on the last chapters of what was to become her most massive novel to date, and me – I was just having the time of my life, carefree and generally very happy.
