Chapter 3.11 “If the Sun refused to Shine”
After the loss of Muddi, I had a bad period, not feeling like being with my friends a lot, spending more time in solitude. It was one of those nights, going to the cinema all alone, that I saw Gregg sitting a few seats from me, also all alone.
I don’t know why but there was something about him that made me want to know more and I found myself chatting with him for a long time outside the theatre, to the point where I was freezing cold riding my bike home, way to late for next day’s school.
We had some friendly dates without any romance over the next few weeks, that was fine with me did not want to rush anything this time.
Then one night after we all went to sleep disaster stroke my family, starting in the kitchen a fire broke out, we all got out in time and the fire truck came. they could safe a few of our belongings but that was the end if Janis cottage. A wooden house like ours burn down frightening fast.
Father rented a small, old and neglected house in town, so small that I had to sleep in the living room. We lost most of you savings, but daddy sold his expensive car, making it possible to keep the old lot and slowly start the rebuilding, while we were living here.
Mother started writing again, maybe she found inspiration in the sudden move, anyway we needed the money after we lost a lot in the fire and daddy needed materials for the construction of our new home.
A few weeks later on a date with my new boyfriend Gregg at David’s café, we kissed for the first time, that was amazing.
