Chapter 4.0 Childhood's End / The Dreaming
Farther worked hard with the reconstruction of “Janis Cottage” at the same time doing all the work needed in our rented home, as mother spend almost all her time writing her next novel. He was tending the garden, cooking, cleaning and washing clothes. He even managed to do a few good illustrations for mother’s book.

Months passed and soon Rahan was no longer a puppy, he developed into a large dog at least twice as big as Muddi was.

Mother released her next book “Pictures of a City – 1: Cold face cased in steel” 8 months after the fire. An important critic wrote:
37 years old Joblin-Fripp is back, this time with what seems to be the first of a series of crime novels. Joblin paints a dark scary world around her main character. A disillusioned male journalist and crime reporter, living a surreal life of bars, alcohol, and unsolved murder mysteries.
In my mind, this is without doubt her best novel in years, 460 pages on intense suspense. Maybe her best book overall, although it is hard to compare with the very different “If the sun refused to shine”.
The Book was an instant bestseller.

I introduced my boyfriend Gregg Blanco to my parents at a family gathering at David’s Café.

That turned out very well. David, Vallari, Mom and Dad all liked him a lot. That was so important to me, would hate to get involved with a boy, my dearest did not like.
