Just read through your thread. Some great tips :) I'll post some now :) When trying to add detail to the exterior of the house, use shelves (from Generations) under a window to create a sill. This looks great on older styled homes. Furthermore, if you want your windows to look really nice, think about using arches around a window to create a different shape or more detailed window frame. I particularly like to use a rectangular arch (one from Ambitions) over the arched window (from the base game) to create a tall rectangular window. This looks great with two columns to the each side of the window too. Another tip. When creating staircases, think about all of the different designs. For example, it is possible to use a staircase with a landing using ConstrainFloorElevation False. Some of my mansions and manors use this staircase in the foyer. In fact, I'm going to be uploading a lot soon using this staircase. Another tip that I like to use is to create cornicing using square arches (particularly the one from Ambitions). The only problem with this is that you have to use MoveObjects On once you've come back to the lot if you quit the game because the arches create an entryway into the next room. The house I will be uploading also uses this. Use several lights to create one elaborate light. Use wall ornaments to create elaborate wall lights. Once I think of more, I'll post :)
