Hi, simmers if you are wondering about the Depreciation on items so I have looked it up in my 'Official Gane Guide' made by Prima. It says All objects depreciate the moment you click out of 'Buy Mode' and then each day they depreciate 10 percent the value until it bottoms out at 40 percent the original value. Its only worth less if broken or been in a Fire!
Do not Depeciate are ... fish, harvestables, walls, floors, fences and doors.
I hope this helps. As I am in a Contest that requires a Home for under 16,500 and like most have trouble not spending too much, the best way is to move a sim in then build and after play them a few days to get the cost down and if low enough add some more objects/plants.
