A great Tip that samanthajane26 added to a Contest Thread.
Free fireplaces! Bit of work involved, but not much. Place the fireplace you want, use MOO (Moveobjects on/off) cheat to remove the chimney stack and the back piece so you're left with only the front fireplace. Put the remaining piece in your sims family inventory (I've notice at least one fireplace won't allow you to place here but I forget which one). Move the family out, move them back in. Using MOO to place, take the fireplace out of the family inventory and place it on the lot, shouldn't increas the cost at all.
The fireplace that it doesn't work on, its a store one : Haute Hacienda Dining Room- Artful Adobe Fireplace it wouldn't let me place the front piece into the family inventory.
