Rflong7, you seem to be the go to girl for CAP questions. I have a slight problem with a couple of patterns I've made. I imported a JPG image as a stamp, and pasted in the first layer, and saved, and exported. When I tested the colors in CAP, changing it from it's original blue to green or red, or whatever it worked fine. But in game when I change the color it's all.... weird. When I click to the green area, it turns red. When I click in the blue area it turns green. I reloaded it back into CAP and it's now doing the same there. What's caused this to happen and how do I fix it? Thank you!
Diamond
Hi :) I don't have an answer but I'll try to help.
This is a single layer pattern with a sticker that has a pattern with several colors on it?
The CAP doesn't seem to work the same as in Game.
The color wheel will start at one color on the pattern and move over. The distance from where it is to where you moved it but (I don't think) skewed from where it started...
It's not white to green but like the half inch from white to green would be the half inch from red to a pink... or something like that.
Where did the color start before you moved it to green? :)
Hiho my turtley friend, Rf!!! And Hi to everyone else in here too!
I'm on my quest to learn the ins & outs of CAP and you've all already answered some perplexing things about recoloring so I hope I can return the favor by saying this to anyone who hasn't figured out what the 'random' color palette changes on your patterns comes from:

You see that checked box located under the palette wheel in Layer Properties called 'Show Color'? Well, D2Diamond, that thing is wholly or partially to blame! I'm no expert on what that thing is even for, but I have noticed that if you keep it unchecked in your layers, then in game it retains the original color location that you uploaded it with.
It appears to be tied to the Sticker/Stencil button somehow. Stencil Mode unchecks the box automatically. I dunno what effects that does or doesn't have, I only know theyre connected. :P Big help, I know
I have no idea why (because I don't know what Show Color is used for/what it does... yet, except that it has something to do with the layers working together), I just know that I've tested it 3 times and having it unchecked seems (I emphasize 'seems') to prevent the problem.
I'll come back to add info if I learn anything more.
Here's a link that talks about the custom T-shirt making that ZooProfessor3 turned me onto:
Custom T-Shirt - it has some educational pointers too (ya never know what might help)
*Sigh* I suppose it would behoove me to go read the Manual now since I never bothered...
