What do you want to know about me?
Well I grew up tough. I had good parents, but I was constantly teased and bullied for the way I looked. Not only was I curvier than all the other girls, but I love metal. I stuck out like a sore thumb due to my unique look, but I wasn't about to change it. Not for a bunch of bullies. If anything, it made me more determined to love myself. I didn't have many friends, but that's alright. I was kind of socially awkward and people thought I was too weird. I found enough comfort in the love our family dog gave me which also stirred my obsession with dogs!
I look back now, and I kind of have to laugh a little bit because the girls who made fun of me for having bright blue or pink hair in school are now doing it for fashion! Who'd have known that they'd all have the leather jacket that they teased me about in 10 years?
Oh well, I always try to look on the bright side!
As I grew up, I discovered a number of talents I had that I didn't know about. I never really did anything other than art when I was younger. As much as I like to think that the bullies didn't affect me, I think in a way the constant put downs made me feel I couldn't explore the things I might be good at.
Anyway, I found out that I could sing. And sing well, apparently! So now I'm in a metal band with my Fiance, Dan who plays guitar. We actually met at a metal gig for one of our mutual friends' bands and formed an instant connection. We're so in tune with each others emotions and it's so much fun touring and gigging together!
We have an insanely good relationship! We're so comfortable with each other and I like to think we bring out the best in one another.
When we're not on tour or gigging, I love to chill out in front of the fireplace with our two dogs and listen to music. My dogs may as well be my kids with how much love and attention they get! The light brown one is called Will and the other is called Bella.
I'm not sure if I'll ever have children. Dan and I have spoken about it, but neither of us are in any rush for the patter of tiny feet. I don't think it would really suit our lifestyle anyway, and we're just fine with the little family we have now.
