Marsden Farm Challenge
I am playing my Farming Challenge with a Twist by PianoAshes. Each chapter will be published on Wednesdays at 14:00 Central Time [19:00 GMT - 20:00 GMT in the winter months] Loni and her father, Fred Marsden, fell on hard times after her mother, Eden, passed away. The medical bills took all of their savings. Fred fell ill and could no longer work. They were about to lose their home. In desperation, Fred called an old Army buddy, Tate Curley, in Appaloosa Plains. Tate bought them bus tickets and told them he had a place they could live and that they should come immediately. They packed what they could take on the bus, mainly clothing and footwear. Loni opened her dresser drawer and took out her grandmother's pearls. They were natural pearls with a unique purple color. She placed them on top of her clothes and closed the suitcase. Then she went into her father's room and helped him pack. The two suitcases were heavy, so she could only manage one at a time on the staircase. They called a taxi. The driver put the suitcases in the trunk while they got into the cab. It was a short drive to the bus station. The driver brought their suitcases inside near the loading door when they arrived. Loni went to the counter to get their tickets and two baggage tags to attach to their suitcases. It wasn't long before their bus was loading. Loni made two trips out to the bus with their luggage. They settle into two seats near the front of the bus. It was a long ride to Appaloosa Plains, so Loni had packed sandwiches and drinks in her backpack. Loni Marsden: Fred Marsden: Edited to add: 9722cce410c84e2a Loni's partner is Christian Payne, created by CravenLestat. He and Charlotte moved in with Loni to help with the farm. They ended up getting married. Christian and Charlotte are available on the exchange. CravenLestat also created Loni's Hedgehog shirt, which is available on the exchange. The shirt says: HEDGEHOGS WHY DON'T THEY JUST SHARE THE HEDGE? The hedgehog is saying NO. The model is Michell Forsythe from my Precious Joy Forsythe Family Legacy game.437Views4likes46CommentsPerfect Genetics Challenge
My new video series - Perfect Genetics Challenge - is now available for viewing on YouTube. https://youtu.be/iQUhw5SbutM This video is a little over 16 minutes. It is an introduction to my founder, Olivia. We first meet her in Create a Household. We see her first home and job. She meets her man and they start getting to know each other. This challenge ought to be colourful. Not only does Olivia have blue, purple, pink and yellow hair but she has a very pale blue skin and pinkish purple eyes. The challenge requires her to produce an heir, male or female, who has the exact same hair and eye colour. Once the heir is confirmed, the mother will concentrate on living her life until the heir is old enough to take on the challenge. There is no upper limit to the number of babies she might have to produce before the heir arrives. Consequently I've set the age spans to be reasonably long but will use cake to age the family up as required. I plan to stop the mother from having more babies once it is confirmed the heir has been born. The heir will age up from toddler to child when they have done all of their toddler skills. And from Child to Teen after completing all of the child skills and getting onto the honour roll at school. The teen will age up to young adult after they have been to a prom and have learned fishing and cooking skills and read all of the fishing and recipe books. This means they'll need to get to level 7 in fishing and level 10 in cooking before I will let them age up to Young Adult. They may learn other skills along the way and need to be at least A Grade students. If they haven't learned the required skills and done the required reading within 105 days they'll age up automatically. When the heir is about the age up to Young Adult, hopefully the day before the teen is ready to age up to young adult, I'll age the parents up to Adult. The Adult life stage is also quite long just in case the mother automatically ages up to adult before she has produced the heir. The Elder life stage is also long. Babies will need grandparents around for a while. I may reduce the length of the Elder life stage at some point if the elders are accumulating. Moonlit Falls is full of supernaturals and I won't worry about when that population ages up. I'll be using EA Story Progression so if the town population ages up very slowly maybe there will still be sims around town by the time my founder's descendants start moving into the general townie population. All babies born to the founder and her heirs will have randomised traits with the one exception that each heir must have the dislikes children trait. There are no restrictions on how the main household earns their income. They can go out collecting, or gardening or whatever they choose. I will be getting them the no bills ever lifetime reward asap because I have a bad habit of forgetting about the bills and have difficulty working out what the repo man has taken. Due to the lack of restrictions on how they earn/come by their money the game will have many and varied activities in it throughout this challenge. One of the first wishes my founder got is to travel to Egypt to buy a recipe book. I do plan to grant that wish soon. Perhaps she can go there on her honeymoon. She has already met her man. I made him specially for her. She's blue with purple and blue hair, he's green with green hair and eyes. But their skin colouring is subtle. I think that about covers it. I hope you decide to watch. I'm keeping the length of these episodes to around 10 to 15 minutes each. Please consider subscribing if you are going to watch the videos as that way you'll know whenever a new episode is posted.3.4KViews4likes149CommentsFields of Gold Legacy
I started another legacy. This one begins on an abandoned, run-down farm in Alryne Valley. This lot is available in my Studio on the Sims 3 Exchange. My name is Jade Fields. I am from Bridgeport, but I hate city life. It was crowded, and the air quality left much to be desired. I moved to Alryne Valley about a week ago and have been renting a room at TexanSky Lodge. It is a stark contrast to Bridgeport. I think I'll be happy here. The climate is pretty mild. The spring and fall are nearly twice as long as the winter, and the summer is longer than the spring and fall combined. The entire year is 7 moon cycles long. I have always dreamed of owning a nectary. Last week, I visited a run-down piece of land in the hills outside of town. I was shocked at how dilapidated it was, but it should be worth at least §70,000 once it's cleaned up. I am ready and willing to do the work. A wind turbine on the property supplies electricity to the buildings. The biggest selling point was the Nectar Making Machine in the barn. The previous owners said that it works, but I have my doubts. Once I grow some grapes, I will find out for sure. I'm glad that I am handy. I might be able to coax it back to life. I purchased the property at auction for §15,000. I have named it Fields of Gold. Edited: Her traits are that she is a great kisser, loves the outdoors, is a natural cook, has a green thumb, and is a cat person. She likes fruit parfait, Classical music, and Irish green. I changed one trait to green thumb, but the rest were traits she was assigned. And, of course, I gave her Bottomless Nectar Cellar for her Lifetime Wish. I started this one for a different change of pace and, of course, took pictures, and now it's turned into a story. I'm unsure if I can keep up with four stories, but I will try. Introduction: The Ultimate Legacy Challenge is from Mod the Sims, and the rules can be found here. It is based on the original Legacy Challenge - rules here. I started with an empty lot and zero Simoleons. To build on the lot, my Sim must "pay" City Hall §1,000 for the property. Generation One has a grand value limit of §1,000 per item sold, meaning my Sim cannot sell any individual item of value greater than §1,000 until later generations. I already had the Taxi Charge mod and the No Fridge Shopping mod, and added the other mods suggested in the Ultimate Legacy Challenge rules to make things more difficult. And on with the story...176Views0likes9CommentsBayou Bijou Collab Completed - World save and Part 4 video released!

Since a fully loaded Bayou Bijou includes many highly detailed builds, we recommend you adjust your in-game settings lower for optimal gameplay. Download and install the empty base world Download and extract the world save file Place the extracted folder under .... \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves before launching your game BACKGROUND (Edit! July 5/25 - The collab is complete. The following instructions are for reference only) Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to this empty world. If building is not your forte, but you love decorating, just let us know. We'll try to match you with an appropriate builder to create a shell for you. Everyone can experience Bayou Bijou taking shape by downloading the empty base world and installing builds as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this process are welcome, so don't be shy. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new creations as they become available. You can also check out in-game Bayou Bijou Stories and Sims from players / creators. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! CLAIMING OVERVIEW Download the Bayou Bijou empty base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Take a look at the lists of available lots using the Map posts as reference (see links above). Indicate you're on board for the collab and sign up for your first claim by replying on this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (approx the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you are now joining the collab or had a build in progress on Claiming Day, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and link(s) submitted by Claiming Day, you may claim up to 2 lots. Edit! Effective Apr 15/25, after successfully uploading a completed cc-free build, participants may claim another lot if desired. However, max 2 claims in progress remains in place. Edit! Apr 17/25 - All lots Claimed. See the Map listings for links to completed builds. BUILDING GUIDELINES Please stay within the theme of each map area and general New Orleans, Louisiana inspiration. You have creative freedom otherwise. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your lot file before uploading to double check. We highly recommend you play-test your lot before uploading to ensure no routing concerns and downloaders can enjoy your build as intended. Another recommendation is to test placement of your final version. This helps identify any potential issues (windows/tiles out of place, etc). To do this... Export your build, save your game, delete the final version, then use the exported copy in the Library to add it back into the world. Take a look around to see if anything is amiss and correct as needed. It will be useful for players if the Bayou Bijou lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Just be cautious about using a ton of clutter since that can add to lag when playing. Each build will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed. Once your build is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: Name of build / map reference and/or address / download link / cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / thread. SIM / HOUSEHOLD SUBMISSIONS The focus of the collab is on builds as the final world game save will be unpopulated, however we can link to Sims / Households created for Bayou Bijou. Bayou Bijou builders can submit Sims / Households for their completed claims as well as general (eg Townie) use. Non-builders can submit Sims / Households for general (eg Townie) use. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your Sim / Household file before uploading to double check. Once your Sim / Household is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: Name / map reference or address (or flag as Townie) / download link / 1 cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / showcase thread. Sims / Households created by participants for claimed builds will include lot addresses with their listings. Sims / Households created for potential use within Bayou Bijou but not associated with a specific build (eg Townies) will be listed under the heading of Auxiliary sims which players can place anywhere as desired. I finally got Episode 18 of Generation 2 of the Perfect Genetics Challenge loaded to YouTube and it is now available for you to watch. It loaded really fast too. My new internet connection has changed the load time for a 30 minute video from about 8 hours to about 10 minutes. https://youtu.be/77Vh65mSSPI The sims are in Vice City for the whole of this episode. We get to look around the world and into a few houses. I have bulldozed some lots in the world and placed some of my preferred venues in their place. I added a roller coaster that is available in my studio, the Porter Party Mini Warehouse from Showtime, The Elixir Consignment Store from Supernatural, Vaarg's Tavern from Supernatural, the Stones Throw Greenhouse from the Sims 3 Store and a wedding venue I built and it is not in my studio as it contains custom content. Olivia is the founder of this Perfect Genetics Challenge. Her husband, Don, has taken some of their grandchildren to Mountain Lake to visit their cousins. The cousins needed training, and they needed to turn their imaginary friends real, and they needed to age up. Four of the cousins aged up to Young Adult and there is no room in Mountain Lake for them to have their own homes so they need to move to a different world. Don took them to Vice City in the previous episode. In this episode we have a look around the world, see where I placed the venues and have a look inside some of the homes. Max is Don's alien son and he visits the roller coaster and throws a party at the Porter Party Mini Warehouse. The party is somewhat eventful as it is supposed to be a costume party but everyone got into the pool and had a great time swimming. A drowning was narrowly avoided and some of the guests became zombies during the party. But everyone went home happy and the party was awesome according to the majority of the guests. I popped into Paul's new house to see his new basement that contains his sculpting equipment. Paul is Max's imaginary friend made real. Paul has the Bot Fan trait. I found him sitting reading while in his Bot Form. I told him to change into his organic form. He turned into his Doll Form. After several attempts to use his menu to get him into his human form I finally told him to change into his everyday outfit and that fixed him. He was back into his human form. Then we go and have a look at Patricia's basement and this visit was uneventful. Then Don dialed up his travel provider and headed back to Mountain Lake. We will see him there is in the next episode. I hope you enjoy this video. Happy Simming1.1KViews4likes4CommentsOmnis Completionist Challenge

I am always trying challenges and came across rules for a build a city challenge. I like Rflong's Tiny Town and so I started there. I didn't like the complicated keeping track of population part, so I overly simplified the rules to divide the population requirement by 100 and change "population" to "household" so that instead of needing 250 sims for a school, I needed 2.5 households. It still remains challenging as you need 30 households to get a grocery store, so that worked well for me. I played through the challenge with my normal age setting of 77 days for a lifespan and keep playing my starting household throughout the challenge. My sims would start dying off and leaving homes vacant because I don't play with any extra story progression mods and I wasn't rotating households to encourage pregnancies. I was simply making sure each new young adult from my household was marrying and getting pregnant before moving out. I did build up Tiny Town to have two dozen active families and all of the rabbit holes except the grocery store. I did place the fruit and veggie carts from the Al Fresco Street Market to serve as a place to buy groceries, but of course that couldn't grant wishes for sims who wanted to take a class in fishing. So, I'm going to play through again on a longer time frame and doing more adopting. Interested in my last playthrough or my next one? I'm interested in yours. This discussion is for reporting the progress and completion of my 112-Day Challenge by @BlackSand Edited to add: The link above no longer works. I had a copy of the original challenge rules from March 2016, so I "rescued" the challenge and put it on my blog. I DID NOT create the rules for this challenge, I am simply hosting it. Full credit goes to @BlackSand on the previous Sims 3 forums. I believe they are HotBlackSand on these forums. You may find the rules located here: BlackSand's 112-Day Challenge (rescued) I plan to create several Sims for the duration of this project. Each will be added as I work on their unique challenges along the way. Each Sim was created using random dice in CAS, from the name to their sign, traits, likes, and lifetime wish. The only thing that I personally selected was the Sims' sex and their current career for the challenge. I reserve the right to change the random clothing they were created with, though I will keep what the game assigned to them unless they look like a total dweeb. My First Sim: Lane Douglas Young adult human Male Aries Traits: Loves to Swim, Flirty, Vegetarian, Gatherer, and Snob Likes: Geek Rock music, Cheese Tofu Steak, Irish green Lifetime Wish: CEO of a Mega-Corporation Current Career: Education Everyday Outfit: Formal Outfit: Sleepwear: Athletic: Swimwear: Outerwear: Career Outfit:612Views2likes53Comments
