A Day Out
part 1
Damien watches with amusement as Mary plays with Sherlock the next morning. She pretends to be a barking dog and laughs as Sherlock twists his head to watch her hands. Damien pulls her into his arms and kisses her good morning.
“Are you ready to go?
She nods her head bemused by his ardent kisses.They hold hands and go downstairs together to enjoy the day.

Bekka arrives early as planned and empties out the living room so she can prepare the walls and paint. She works for several hours taking a break when Layla comes downstairs. She sits with her and drinks some juice while Layla eats a hearty breakfast.
“You look like you are feeling better this morning.” Bekka says as she looks her over. “Your color is less pasty.”
“Yes, I slept really well. Jamison called me last evening and did his mojo trick over the phone. His powers are certainly getting stronger for him to be able to achieve that. It is recorded that finding your soulmate can strongly enhance one's powers. Perhaps Jamison is correct that he has found his mate in you.”
Bekka is a little startled that Layla thinks they are soulmates. "What makes you think we are soulmates? Can you sense those things?"
"No, I don't divine soulmates. I actually didn't think Jamie would have a soulmate. I did Jamie’s prophecy a few years ago. He and I disagreed with the interpretation of the prophecy. I’m beginning to suspect he was right, and I was wrong. As much as I hate to admit that! I will allow him to tell you about the prophecy.”
Bekka laughs at the face that Layla makes when admitting that she could be wrong. “I guess that doesn’t happen too often? Jamie denies being occult and yet he possesses these powers. Do you have any idea why?”
“Not completely, but I suspect he has strong magical genes in his ancestry."
Bekka nods. "That would make some sense. What are you planning to do today?”
“I’m going to take a walk around this winter wonderland town of yours. I much prefer the burning heat of the desert where I grew up. I’ll never get used to winters like this but I’ll check things out while I'm here. I’m completely bored with resting.”

Bekka constructs the entrance to the office on the second level of the garage with her powers. It is amazing how quickly one genie can renovate in comparison to several humans. She places the furniture around the room that was delivered today. Damien had ordered two more desks and other items for the office space. She will finish this area later but wants the room accessible if Damien needs the office before completion.

Her phone rings while she is moving furniture and she checks. It's Jamie! She stops what she is doing and answers. She misses him so much and tells him exactly that. He is done with the collecting and will be taking the plane back this evening. She sends him a few pictures, so he can see some of the changes in the house. She asks him to come by if he is not tired after his plane lands. He is thrilled she wants to see him as soon as he gets back. After they finally hang up, she works in the living room placing furniture as the paint has dried. She uses a spell to freshen the room and remove the smell of paint.
