What does it mean to be beautiful?
Answer: “Now, most people will say ‘Being beautiful means having a great personality and being a nice person’. However, I want to be more realistic with it. Beauty does not mean having a slim face and clear complexion. Beauty does not mean having a flat stomach and a thigh gap. Lots of people say ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’, but they don’t know how right they are. The original intention for beauty is looks—how well someone thinks your appearance is. If we go back throughout history in different times and places, beauty is defined differently. For examply, in ancient Greece, beauty was all about being naturally imperfect. However, most people in the present consider beauty as naturally perfect. I believe that beauty is an overrated term—no one is beautiful and no one is not. Beauty is a term that people created because they liked something, or someone. I believe beauty does not exist. I have my own ‘beauty standards’, and you have yours. Beauty has no generalization, no exact definition, and no meaning.
To put my answer in direct words: To be beautiful means nothing. To be ugly means nothing. To be skinny, to be fat, to be clear, to be messy, it all means nothing. Opinions on appearance mean nothing, simply because it is different for everyone. Someone may find me beautiful, but I know that others do not. Therefore, it does not matter, because it cannot be determined whether or not I am beautiful. The same goes for you, everyone you know, and everyone on Earth. To be beautiful means nothing."
