Palais Rohan Festival
Place at 2 Sentier de Hallebards
(Oh boy, please pardon my long post. 😁)
The inspiration for this lot came from an 18th century palace that was originally the residence of the prince-bishops and cardinals of the House of Rohan (an ancient French noble family). At the end of the 19th century, the palace became home to three important museums. But in the Sims world it’s been transformed into the town’s festival grounds.
This lot was a challenge because of the type of building it was, as you wouldn’t think of this property as your typical festival grounds. It had limited ground space so I had to include a lot of activities indoors and I think I’ve included most everything a festival needs. I tried to stay true to the French Baroque style of the palace, so the decor is quite formal and done in the style’s opulent, rich and bold color schemes.
The palace is structured around a large paved courtyard and is divided into 3 sections separated by arches and entranceways. The left section is a grassy area and features seasonal activities, while the right section contains a grassy food court. The rest of the activities are housed in the rear 3-story building. The front building near the front passageway entrance features open archways into seating areas on both sides, connecting to public restrooms on one side and a chess and dominoes room on the other.
Access to the rear building is via the courtyard and up the steps into arched entrances flanked on either side connecting to the main building. Each pass-through section contains vending machines and couches, with a photo booth on one side and claw machines on the other end.
The ground floor of the main building consists of a long corridor in front accessing 3 separate areas: a formal dance floor room on one end, an enclosed skating rink in the middle and a dining hall on the other end. The dining area has a food register, a croissant bar, a fireplace and public restrooms.
A staircase in the dining room leads to the 2nd floor which features a large game room. Sims will have a plethora of activities to do here: pool tables, ping pong tables, foosball, arcade tables, whack-a-set machines, gyroscope conductor, arcade games, darts and skee ball. Also on this floor is a cozy cafe with a fireplace, a reading room with a fireplace and public restrooms (each with a sun tanning booth). Take the spiral staircase up to the rooftop area where you can view the breathtaking views of the town or use the telescopes.
So on to the seasons . . . Besides all the indoor amenities, each season contains kissing booths, a face painting booth, a love inspector, a photo booth, a seasonal concession stand, dining tables with umbrellas, picnic tables, a popcorn machine, a snow cone machine and a cotton candy machine.
Seasonal Activities

- Summer: Carousel, hot dog eating contest, BBQ’s, ice cream counter, playground, lawn water slide, an indoor roller-skating rink, a family fun arena (for water balloon fights) and a trampoline

WowSandraelle , what an incredible amount of work! Palais Rohan Festival Grounds is lovely inside and out and chock full of activities for our sims to enjoy. From the architecture to the layout throughout all seasons to the interior with those wonderfully rich colours. It will probably take me a few visits to notice all the details you put into this build. Love the blue, white and gold floor pattern in the games area. A very special destination indeed! Links have been added to the News and Map A listings. Well done! 🤩

Hidehi2, Aww, thank you so much. I wasn't sure how to decorate the interiors, but I'm glad I decided to go with the period of the architecture. 😀😀
