Sims can get married in splendour! This architecture is based on the Strasbourg Notre Dame Cathedral in Alsace and I've done my best to represent features including the single tower, buttresses, clerestory and three-story atrium and nave. Ground level includes several entrances, seating, high altar pulpit (with TS3 podium, spellbook and wedding arch activities), side aisles with confessional (photo) booths, alcoves with statues, candle displays and nod to the astronomical clock. Liberty has been taken with the interior decor to simplify and add my own creativity.
The changeroom, workroom with computer, washrooms, organ and choir rooms were added for gameplay so these are not representational of the real floor plan. Other additions are the 2 washrooms on Level 3 and the banquet hall, kitchen and washrooms in the basement. I also designed the courtyard which includes a wedding arch and seating for garden weddings.
I used the part of the shell from my Notre Dame of Paris cathedral for this build and gutted most of the interior except for the basement which is deliberately basically the same. Several store items are used so hopefully downloaders have the key items and can tweak if desired. This was a labour of love and I'm happy it's finally done. Hope you like it. Strasburg Wedding Cathedral is very beautiful! ❤️It looks so very elegant and grand! The architecture is very lovely! It is so very detailed! The build would have involved a lot of work and many, many hours. You have reflected the real life Cathedral very well! The interior furnishing of each area is very lovely! The altar, wedding arch and services seating room is very special ❤️The basement banquet hall is a very lovely places to hold meals for functions and wedding receptions.

soocoolsim, OH....MY.....GOSH.....I have no words! Well, actually I do, haha. This cathedral is stunning!!!! (I like it even better than the Notre Dame one you built for the Orient Express Collab). Great job on creating a sims version that is so close to the inspiration photos. Love it!! 😃
It's so beautiful inside and out and I'm so wowed by all the different objects and recolored wall patterns you used to get the achieved look. You used a wallpaper I've never even given a 2nd look at, and couldn't even find it in my game for awhile, lol. It was the "ornate verona wall middle" in the paneling section and it came out perfectly to look like a stained glass window. I love all the different types of stained glass looks you came up with. And the wallpapers you used that looked like real windows (that I thought were actual windows at first, lol). And then I didn't even know what you used on the 2nd and 3rd floor balcony areas above the main entrance area (as I didn't think I recognized that column), and discovered that you actually used the tall drain pipes -- GENIUS!!
The beautiful floors, the organs you created, the CFE spots where the spires are, the beautiful altar, I could go on and on.....everything about it is so pretty and creative. It's such a great place for sims to get married in and celebrate in the beautiful reception room in the basement. The courtyard is so beautiful with the landscaping and statues, offering sims an alternate place to get married. Another fabulous build by you and a great addition to Petite Alsace.
