@TadOlson Thanks for the welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing how your world turns out. I read some of your posts in the CAW forum when I was working on my project, and I got the impression you are very meticulous with your CAW projects.
@Rawkxy You really did start your family out with bare bones furnishing! I thought they were going to have to come up with some big money to pay the bills on that big house before they would be able to even think of buying anything, but apparently they're doing better than I thought possible.
@Unlockedinferno Thank you. I have freckles myself, though they don't show so much on my face. But my arms and hands are totally plastered with them. I'd like to that with some of my sims, but in this game you can only put them on their face.
@and-it-is-on Yeah, I like to let my sims direct the game by their wishes, unless they are too far from the main purpose I intended for them. Danielle fulfilled the main goals I had for her before she married, so it was time to find new ones, and she and her husband supplied them for me. It is fun playing with them, but it's also HARD, and it takes a lot longer to get through just one day than with a small family. I play with low free will, so I have to pause a lot, and can't do quite as much with them as individuals as I would with a small family. I tried turning on age up to NPC for toddlers in one family, but when they aged up, I couldn't do it. My one underlying goal in every game I play is to keep their needs met and give them a good life. I felt like I would be abandoning those children if I couldn't do that for them.
@ FuzzySlipers45 Is your sim in the science career, or are you just calling her a scientist for the purpose of your scenario? Where do you get the lab equipment? Is it from ITF? Or maybe from UL? I don't have either of those. How are you going to provide for her social needs if she doesn't interact with the locals? Even loners need some social contact. Have you made her needs static?
Danielle and my avatar are related only in that I probably made them both from the same starter sim in CAS. I made one of each gender with my favorite features, which I use to make new sims. For new sims, unless CAS gave me one I wanted to keep, I tweak my starter's facial and body sliders, change hair and eye colors and hairstyle, and sometimes put in different noses or other features. But I almost always use the same eyes and lips, because I really like those particular ones.
@LunBeauty Thank you. I'm definitely enjoying this family.
@and-it-is-on Toby and Megan make a very nice-looking couple. They will probably have some very cute kids. I hope they have a happy life together in the process. I'm wondering where the spiked headband (?) came from, and how on earth did it stay on her head even under her graduation cap?
@KatieTerrorFace I love the way Marina put the brakes on Shamus' advances! LOL!
@Simmer999 You've gotten a really good start on your story. It sounds like it's going to be a good one! Good idea to make multiple saves and back it up on a flash drive. But if they are all there and still not showing up in your game, I've read in other forum posts in the past that there are only so many saves that will show up in your main menu. If you have too many, they won't all show up. Try moving them to another folder somewhere on your computer, and only leaving the ones you are currently working on. They may show up then. If that doesn't work, try asking in the technical forum. Maybe someone there can help you find the answer.
I tend to feel the same way you do, that if I reply to some, others I don't reply to might feel slighted or hurt. We have to get over that here. I don't think it's really going to be a problem. Nobody could possibly keep up with all the stories here, so nobody is going to expect anybody else to either. We just have to do what we can, when we can. I'm probably going to have to reduce the number of stories I'm commenting on as it is.
Might I suggest you try what I am doing? I right click to open the reply box in a different tab. If you can't do this with your browser, you could open a text file instead. I skim through, reading stories, especially ones with more pictures than text, and in the comments posts, I don't read what anybody says to someone else, just look for my name. As I go, I comment on the stories that have something that interests me, and on any comments directed to me, copying their names from their posts and pasting it into mine. It saves time over trying to read everything or making multiple replies.
@Colorist40 Nah, I don't really hate it, at least not this time. There have been times I went the way they wanted, then scrapped the game because I didn't like it, but not this time.
Once Rose was born and I chose her name, I decided that all children in this family would have flower names. But the only flower I could think of that would work as a boy's name was Oleander. I asked on the general forum, in a post I made about this family, that if anyone had any ideas for other flower names that would fit a boy, please share them, and someone shared a link to a page on another related forum where someone had asked basically the same thing. Liatris was the only one I felt really fit a boy.
Thanks for the compliment on my basement project. I have been getting lots of practise with building, and I think I like every project better than the ones before.
@Celiria Thank you.
@wickichick I'm glad I joined. I hope I can continue.
