I got it! Unfortunately I didn't get to play in it as long as I'd like because by the time I was able to download it was time to fix lunch for my daughter and now I'm about to help her run her Play Doh Ice cream parlor and serve ice cream to some stuffed animals--LOL. But the first quick run through was amazing! I had my sim actually in her house painting while I ran through the island with the camera. I could not believe how much personality the world has. There's this beautiful dirt road with charming little houses along it that reminds me of some place I once was at in my childhood. It's always a nice surprise when a Sim world can call to mind something a person has actually seen in real life and helps give a nice feeling of connection to the world.
I can see your dilemma about the trees. It's a big world and I can see why you wanted more trees. But you were right to scale it back for the sake of our computers. My computer handled it well and you left the trees placed where they could be most appreciated in the views from within lots and from scenic vantage points.
I look forward to spending better "quality time" with it when I'm able. Unless I run across some hideous hidden problem that can't be fixed, I can see this becoming a "keeper" world for general purpose non-themed play and a good-sized map to build in.
If there were any tears as you said, you did an excellent job hiding them. The beaches that I saw were exquisite--just how I like them done!
