I'm glad you know what a gem you've made! I'm "skilling up" some of my freshly created families over in the Alpha version of Sunshine DayDreams world. In playing them, I was surprised to find how well the parents and their teens got along on average. My poor kid Sean in Saskan Harbor is definitely an anomaly. It's not like he's not trying. He had his first kiss with a pretty little aspiring musician girl and he was excited and went home and told his dad with the "Confess Attraction for" action. Jon Lessen gave a rude reaction and then I got the notice that Sean was boring him! I couldn't understand that as Jon has the "hopelessly romantic" trait and I would have thought he would be interested in his own son's first kiss. But no...he only thinks of playing guitar. He and his useless wife are always waking Sean up with their endless playing.
I'm actually building out the rest of the town with this kid in mind. Since there is literally nothing keeping him at home I am putting in little touches here and there for a bit of 50's Rebel Without a Cause kind of theme. It's definitely taking on a character and atmosphere as I go along.
