Sorry to panic anyone. I definitely tracked it down to a single mod that allows children to use study books. Once I did that it was all fixed. I replaced all the bookcases in the library, then around midnight Story Progression let me know it had restocked bookshelves in something like four other community lots I didn't even know had bookcases. So see? There ya go. I messed it up with a mod and it was at least partially fixed with another mod.
But yes, that's the way I play. With mods it's the element of danger and all that. I like living on the edge, just waiting for the day one will bring my game to its knees begging for mercy!
Okay, seriously (I am way too tired--is it obvious?). I played a Sim for nearly a week and Johnny, you have done an excellent job on Saskan Harbour! It also answered a question for me I had been wondering, which was, "How would it be to make an island on a large map and use most of the map?" Now I know and the answer for me is "too big." Now that doesn't mean I'm not going to play Saskan Harbour. It just means that it doesn't fit my current willy-nilly playstyle, where I have Sims running from end to end of a town gathering up goodies all day long to make a living, then trying to socialize on the side. I stuck my Sim in one of those lots way up overlooking the ocean (gorgeous view by the way!), and he's way too far from everything. Now if I stuck a Sim nearer to town that wasn't trying to make their living off the land (like perhaps a writer or an artist with possibly a veggie garden on the side), I think it would work out much, much better.
I tell you, I'm absolutely in love with your parks and the various scenery. They're just gorgeous! Of course it helps to have all those extra plants that came with WA. The whole thing is sheer eye feast. :D
