Build-n-Share Challenge # 4 - GNOMELANDIA! A Neighborhood Project

This Week’s Challenge Specifics:
Walking up to your firm in the cool morning air, you are surprised to find a visitor. He is dressed in some of the brightest clothes you’ve ever seen. “This could be fun,” you think to yourself.
“Good morning there!” he greets you. “My name is David and I have a big building project and I heard you are the one to contact. I am the coordinator of a new town, GNOMELANDIA. Some friends and I would like to establish our own town to recognize our gnome past, and we would like you to build it! We were hoping to have it done by next week.”
“A whole town?!” You exclaim. “By next week?! I may have to call in some reinforcements.”
“A collective project. I like that,” he replies. “The gnomes are always one for teamwork. Well, what we would like is a little town with all the usual establishments, and a few more specific ones. I’ve created a list for you.”
He hands you a rather lengthy list.
“We would like the structures to have stone exteriors. And we don’t want anything to look modern. The insides should be bright and colorful. Not so much pastels, more the bold shades of colors. As much as possible, we’d like to keep an older feel to the town. We can still use modern appliances like refrigerators and lights, but we would like to avoid most of the unnecessary items/modern “conveniences” like microwaves, dishwashers, and cars. We do like to dance, though, so stereos are OK. But if their look can be somehow disguised a bit, we would appreciate it.”
“OK, I’ll call all my fellow builders for this one. Together, I think we should be able to manage. Gnomelandia…sounds like a fun place!”
“Thank you so much!” He shakes your hand rather vigorously.
“Oh!” he exclaims. “One more thing…we descendents of gnomes love games. We want a game of sorts in our town. In each build, we would like you to include seven gnomes. Some can be in the open, but we would get a kick out of some hidden ones, too. Please provide a list of the hiding spots for me, though, so I can help the townspeople who can’t seem to find them all!”
He chuckles and turns to leave.
You smile at his rosy cheeks as he hurries out.

As you are turning to your phone to make a call, your second customer of the day comes trolling in. He does not look quite so friendly as the first.
“Hello, I am here to add to the request for the town of Gnomelandia. There are a few of us who will live on the edge of town who are not so into the ‘bright colors’ mentioned by my, uh, neighbor. I’d like to add a few builds to the list that he probably forgot.”
He takes the list and begins to scrawl across it.
“OK, that should do. We want an old look, too. But no bright colors. We like it a bit more dark.”
“Hmm, well, I’d feel more comfortable if David had mentioned them, but I suppose you have a right to your request, too. I will forward this info to the building cooperative. I think we should be able to manage.”
“Very well, then,” he says as he walks out.
“Strange,” is all you think to yourself.
This week’s challenge is a neighborhood project. Similar to “street projects” at Sims 2, everyone will sign up to build one lot for the project. You can find the sign-up list created by David and his gruff “friend” here:http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/42916.page#34
8407. Please read the top post and follow the instructions to sign up for your favorite available lot.
This week, there will be no “winners,” as it is a cooperative project for the launch of an entirely new town. However, several judges will be rec’ing every entry, I will download each lot, and you will be listed in the large post that will announce the new town here on the forum, where many simmers are likely to see your work.
The builds should follow the requirements above. Hopefully you will know which on the list are from the “gruff friend.” If you have any questions about the style of your build, please let me know. The Earth Mother’s home should probably be a bit more subdued, maybe even with some pastels. The tree houses may be made out of wood.
To those building residential lots: You are welcome to create an accompanying family if you like. The wizard has been accepted by a talented creator, Emelye. I have asked FieryFemale to create the Earthmother, but haven't heard back yet. All other sims are still available.
Didn't sign up for residential but want to create a fam? Go ahead and upload them from create-a-sim and they can be extras that others can place as they like. Remember to try to keep them somewhat "gnomey" and oldfashioned, or if you want a rebel/troll, you can go for that, too.

Alright, so I figured since all the Gnomelandia lots are all grouped together , the FAMILIES should be included as well! Many of these creations are just as fabulous as the buildings, so the community should be well aware of these great additions to Gnomelandia. If you didn't get a chance to make a home or lot for Gnomelandia feel free to use CAS to create some unique Gnomes, Trolls, etc. for our great new town! If I missed your link, or you have added a new family just post below and I'll be sure to add it to the master list when I get a chance.

The builds should follow the requirements above. Hopefully you will know which on the list are from the “gruff friend.” If you have any questions about the style of your build, please let me know. The Earth Mother’s home should probably be a bit more subdued, maybe even with some pastels. The tree houses may be made out of wood.
To those building residential lots: You are welcome to create an accompanying family if you like. The wizard has been accepted by a talented creator, Emelye. I have asked FieryFemale to create the Earthmother, but haven't heard back yet. All other sims are still available.
Didn't sign up for residential but want to create a fam? Go ahead and upload them from create-a-sim and they can be extras that others can place as they like. Remember to try to keep them somewhat "gnomey" and oldfashioned, or if you want a rebel/troll, you can go for that, too.
