Build-n-Share Challenge #207-208 • Catch the Radical Wave
Rose bustles into your office and you have to blink several times. She ius wearing the most lurid tropical shirt you have ever seen. She bustles along handing you a very thick file.
"You look very....colorful today!" you state. Rose just giggles. "The newest clients will be here and I wanted to look nice for them!"
"Oh, they are here!" She bustles from the office at the speed of sound.
Within a minute she is ushering in two young men. You have glanced at their folder and know a little about them.
"Hello!" The tall blonde one says while extending his hand. "I am Kip Kowabunga!" You notice a glint of rebel in those green eyes.
You really hope this is not going to be trouble. "This is Tenn Hanger!" He indicates the other man beside him. The dark haired and eyed young man gives you a nod.
"What can we do for you gentlemen?" You ask as they settle into chairs.
Kip takes the lead. "We are looking for a beach house. Something a bit radical. We do not want cookie-cutter." We can do radical you say. Kip laughs at your words. "We are looking for bright and a bit modern but nothing too streamlined. Maybe mix modern and traditional but above all we are looking for color and texture in our home."
Tenn then adds his say. " We need three bedrooms- two with double beds, three full bathrooms, decks, a pool and/or hot tub, a gym, a study and a family/media room." Kip nods his agreement. "We would also like our favorite colors used within the home. "My favorite color is red and Tenn's is aqua!"
"What kind of budget are you looking at for this build?" You make notes as you ask the question.
"We are champion surfers and windsurfers so we have saved $111,000 from our winnings to use." Tenn looks at Kip with a smile.
"I think we can get you a radical beach house for that amount!"
You smile to yourself as the two young men leave your office. You wonder what have you gotten yourself into with these two.
Design Requirements:
-Build a radical beach house full of color and texture.
-Lot size no larger than 30X30
-Three bedrooms-2 with double beds and 1 with 2 single beds and three full bathrooms
-Mandatory living area--kitchen, living room and dining room
-A study with two desks and two computers
-A family room/media room with television
-A gym
-Decks or porches
-A pool and/or hot tub
-Outdoor area with seating
-Use red and aqua somewhere in the house
-$111,000 budget
Optional Challenge:
Create Kip Kowabunga and Tenn Hanger. Show them on the beach having a party.
