#BnS221 - Nicholas's Tiny ProblemThe deadline for this challenge is 31st December 2019You have finished the dinner dishes, and you are just settling down in front of the fire to watch your favorite television show when you hear at knock at your door. You check the clock as you head to the front door, wondering who could be calling on you this late at night. You open the front door and let out a huge gasp. The man on the other side of the door is wearing a red suit trimmed with frothy white fur. He is sporting a long white beard. But he looks far from jolly.
"Excuse me for calling on you at this late hour," he says politely. "My name is Nicholas, and I am in dire need of your immediate assistance."
Wondering what could be so pressing, you invite him into your warm home. You put some tea and cookies out, and Nicholas happily munches cookies as he tells you his tale.
"I am a toy maker. My employees lately have started a labor union. Now, they are rebelling, saying they are tired of living in the dormitories I have provided for them. They are actually striking for individual tiny houses! This is the big toy season--I need them all working!"
You assure him that you can help him as you lay out more cookies. He grabs another cookie and relaxes. "The houses should have a bathroom and sleeping area, a small kitchen and living room area. And a fireplace for heating the house. It can be decorated for Christmas, since I will be giving them out for that holiday. I don't care what style, but I need one as soon as possible. If they can see the prototype, maybe they will get back to work!" Nicholas says loudly, shaking his cookie and spreading crumbs all over your new sofa.
Further discussion leads to a budget of $65,000 for the prototype tiny house.

LEVEL: beginner
LOT SIZE, ADDRESS & FINAL COST: 30x30, 35 Aibell Avenue Dragon Valley, $61,996
LOT DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: The North Pole is rough terrain. To build you have to work with what you got. As the elevation gets higher the temperature falls and you get a bit more snow. I didn't soften the mountain terrain because I thought it looked like a glacier as well. There are no interior stairs. You must brave the trek up and down the mountain to get to each floor. Each floor has a fireplace. The stairs and bridge worked when I tested it. The river is not big enough to skate on. Sims prefer to cross frozen water more than the safety of the bridge. It's not very cheery looking on the outside, but blends into it's surroundings. Holiday colors used on the interior.
First floor 20.5 Tiles: Dining, kitchen and living areas with a bookshelf and TV. No sink, but there is a dishwasher and a well outside. Garbage is is just outside the front door.
Second floor 9 Tiles: Bathroom
Third floor 14 Tiles: Bedroom and dresser with two doors.
43.5 Interior Tiles
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM: Yes, I know I need it.

LOT SIZE, ADDRESS & FINAL COST: 20x20 lot , Riverview, Ely Court, $46,207
LOT DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: Sparky, one of Nicholas' elves, was so excited to leave the dormitory where he shared space with all the other elves and move into his tiny log cabin. The tiny floor plan is suited just for him and is decorated in red, white and green and he's already decorated for Christmas. The stepping stones lead to the front porch with a side entrance where you're greeted by a mistletoe and a Christmas wreath on the front door. It enters into a tiny open space with a full kitchen, a little living room for watching tv and reading, a stovepipe fireplace to cozy up to and a place to eat in front of the windows. To save on space, the bedroom has a tiny "all-in-one bathroom" and a convenient screen door to access the back porch. Since the interior space is so small, Sparky had to put the Christmas tree on the back porch, but he doesn't mind because Nicholas surprised him with a heat lamp as a housewarming present, so now he can sit and enjoy the tree no matter what the temp is. A ladder leads up to an upper deck with a telescope for better views; as you can see he's already been drawing on his easel. The backyard has a pond for him to enjoy, a bbq and a horseshoe court. (Upgraded and fireproofed.)
Merry Christmas, from Sparky the Elf
43 squares total: living/kitchen = 31 squares and bedroom/bath = 12 squares

After a long day of building, creating, packing and wrapping gifts (and maybe shopping and baking) elves of all kinds need a place to unwind and recharge their holiday spirit. Tiny 1-bedroom, 2-story home with all-in-one bath, backyard hot tub and all the necessities.
House has 22 squares downstairs, 19 upstairs, for total of 41 squares used.

LOT SIZE, ADDRESS & FINAL COST: 20x20, 40 Sulfur Springs - Aurora Skies, 63something (I hadn't intended this one to be the entry so I didn't pay attention to the exact cost, but it was somewhere over 63 but under 64)

LOT SIZE, ADDRESS & FINAL COST: A placed lot in Aurora Skies, 25x25 lot $1,250. total $64,998
LOT DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: A tiny house with the look of a cuckoo clock (sort of), this is a neat place to call home! The living space inside has a full-sized bath and kitchen, a tiny eating area, and a cozy living space on the first floor. The second story has a place to read tucked under a loft bed and a porch with several activities as well as a chair to relax in. Because the inside is so tiny, the outside is a large space in which the lucky helpe...employee can entertain friends, garden, or bounce away on the trampoline. Judging by the happy looks on the elv...employees' faces, we helped Nicolas solve his "tiny problem."

LOT SIZE, ADDRESS & FINAL COST: 25 x 20. Oops... I forgot to check the cost before upgrading so its depreciated by two days. It was built in Hidden Springs, but I deleted existing lots to add 3 new side-by-side lots for the complete series. That puts me out of the running, but it's OK. This was just for fun.
LOT DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: Come aboard and stay as long as you like in this comfy 1 bedroom, 1 All-in-One bathroom tiny home. #1 in the Elf Express train series of 3 lots. Access is through the enclosed engine front, however the actual home area utilizes 44 squares.

My inspiration story... Nicholas was getting frustrated. His employees were up in arms needing individual homes and his other big problem is the trains they used to transport the toys from the workshops to the suppliers were getting pretty old. He thought, and thought, then had a brillant idea. With a bit of paint, a warm fireplace and insulation, each carriage would be perfect as a tiny home. With the savings from not buying brand new houses, he could invest in purchasing faster transportation. Win-win.
