I'm able to download from the Exchange. I'm sorry so many of you are having problems with it. Here's a alternate way to try. After you save the Sim3 file, you can use Delphy's Sims3 Pack Multi-Installer to convert the file to a package file so you can place it in your library folder. I would be curious to know if this works for anyone. I've done it before when the Exchange and/or launcher wasn't cooperating.
How-To: Download from the Exchange without Logging in.
***This may not work for Sims 3 store files, due to them being file protected.
- With browser of your choice, go to the page of the item you want to download.
- Right-click on the page, and select View Source.
- After the page has loaded, press Ctrl-F together, and type this [Sims3Pack] in the box in the left corner, and press Enter.
- It should find the file for you. You may have to highlight and copy the link and paste it into a new tab in the browser to download the file.
--- To highlight, left-click drag mouse over the link; right-click it and select copy. It will ask you where you want to save it. It will save as a Sims3Pack file.
JudiAlbert , Thank you for this info!! I always just select the "save file" option when I want to download a lot off of the Exchange, but for the past few weeks, it just goes to the main sim page, so I can't save it. I hadn't tried the "add to game" button to see if it would download it though so maybe that works. I've also not been able to log into the Sims MyPage site for weeks now.
I appreciate your work-around, as I just tried your way via the "view source" option and I was able to get your sims3pack file for Guido's Restaurant into my computer's DOWNLOADS folder. So now I will be able to put your lot into my game. Thanks again!!!😀
EDIT: Since I hadn't tried the "add to game" option, I just now did and that feature doesn't work for me either (nor does the recommend button).
