Very clear and exciting tutorial! Sorry if this question came up earlier and I missed it.. I was on a roll and then I was stopped by a difference in new and old Windows, I think... These instructions are no longer valid for me:
Open MicroDEM and then click File->Open DEM, in the Files of Type box make sure 'ASCII Arc Grid' is selected, browse to the folder you unzipped the DEM file, select the file and then click Open.
There's no "files of type" box. I can "open as" but that just sends me to the internet to find the software it thinks I'm missing.
Sorry for being computer illiterate. I am just not sure what to do next, and Googling isn't yielding much because I don't know what I'm looking for.
