Zoo U--Complete Course 1- Building a Farm-, Post 1 for links to lessons

Zoo U students, after registration, please do the following (some things are marked optional, but if it is not marked that way, I will assume that you will do it before next Saturday's lesson).


1. Bookmark this thread so that you can find us for the next lesson. This is where the class will be taking place.

2. If you have not accepted a friend request from me, please consider doing that. (this step is optional)

3. IMPORTANT: The class will involve moving back and forth between this thread and your game. You will be posting questions and comments as well as seeing the photo and description of the build step you are supposed to be doing. It is important that you can have the forum opened to this thread but minimized as you build and have your game open but minimized as you come here to post. Please try this out before next week by minimizing this window right now, opening up your game and starting a new game, saving your game and hitting the "windows" key on your keyboard (if you have a Mac, kindly scroll down to post four and my friend Wibble will tell you how to do this!) and posting something in this thread (like "Testing that I can post while my game is open") and then going back into your game to make sure all is running well. This all works fine on MY computer, but everyone's machine is different and you don't want any unpleasant surprises next week.

4. I am going to be adding some links to useful threads I'm making for students in Zoo U. It is optional that you do any of those, but they will help you have a smoother time as a builder. I would at least go look at what has been posted, but even that is not required. (This step is optional)

"Register Me!"

I will be sending friend requests to all who register, and it would be very helpful (but not required) that you accept my request.

To All Zoo U Students:

1. If you haven't yet done all that is mentioned in Post 2, please do so ASAP.
2. Post 2 asks you to have your game open and then post on this thread WITHOUT closing your game as a test, could you please make your test post be what Expansion Packs (EPS) you have?


I am trying to figure out who has base game only (which is all that is required for this class) and who has Pets (which is optional). I will teach the class differently if everyone has Pets than I would if very few of you have it.

I have all EP's and all SP's.

How to move back and forth between the game and the browser, Mac Users.

*For this to work easily, make sure that the only applications working are your game and your browser, with the Zoo U page showing.*

While running your game, press the cmd (⌘) and Tab keys simultaneously. This should immediately close the game and open your browser, selecting it as the active window.

To return to the game, either simply click on the Game icon in the Dock, or press the cmd (⌘) and Tab keys again, to scroll through the list of open applications.

If you have any other Mac queries, please send me a friend request and leave me a comment on my page. I'll do my best to answer!

I don't know, Meg, my own brother told me if we lived closer he would have GIVEN our nieces to us as we spoiled them SO badly. :D

By the way, tell your kid she should look at her gift box I send her something yesterday (or was it two days ago?).

Hi, SpudKing! I am going to have us build a barn that is Pets friendly (meaning that if you don't own the EP and get it later or if you build this barn as part of a lot and upload it, whoever has this lot and also has Pets can easily upgrade the barn and surrounding area and install Pets items like horse stalls and horse jumps).

There will be some things in the barn interior where I say "decorate using whatever EPs and SPs you have, here are some ideas". BUT everything that is essential to our first lesson (indeed, for this entire Building a Farm course) is from the base game.
