I have just about plucked up the courage to ask "Register me please". Hope I'm not too late!?
Your lectures 'Professor' seem to be an absolutely fantastic way to improve one's building skills!! ... I'm afraid I have only been lurking and admiring your courses from afar
It just seems a little daunting to do this 'live' but also offers an awesome opportunity to interact with teacher and fellow students.
The only thing scaring me out of my wits is all the technical stuff like posting pictures, links, starting threads and the like and I'm not sure if I can get my fuddled computer illiterate brain around those. :?
But I'm up for giving it a go if my application is accepted. Thank you!!! :D
Hello, Hidehi, WELCOME!
First, RELAX! Nothing at all to be nervous about here, I promise you. Some students interact very little, some very much, and it is always up to the student.
I love it when students get very involved and create their own threads with the work from our class, but no one says that you must do that. And here is the thing to remember: this is SCHOOL, we don't expect you to already know how to do stuff, we TEACH you how to do it. Even if it is not something specific to this course, if you don't know how to do something (like post photos in a forum thread, for example), then THIS is the place to ask for help on that.
In real life, I am a college math professor and I get students who are terrified because they "aren't good at math", but then I tell them that I AM good at math and that they have me there to help THEM get good at it, too. If they do the things I ask them to do, I am completely confident that I can help them to survive college math courses unscathed.
I like teaching these building classes because I can give advice, help, and encouragement without the pressure of a tight time schedule (I can make as many lessons as the subject takes or as few) and without having to assign grades (which makes students excessively nervous and puts them at odds, at least in their own minds, with their teacher).
My point is that you can feel safe here. We are glad to have you and will be happy to help in any way that we can. You will find a teacher and students who all want to support you and I think you will be comfortable almost instantly.
