♥ Beginner's Editing & Photography - A2 Commenting in Progress ♥

Welcome to the first step in becoming an AWESOME photographer and editor in The Sims 3! You all have different reasons for wanting to learn these things, and I can't wait to get started!
In this competition, you will be learning all sorts of skills, including, but not limited to:
Pose Player usage
Basic editing
Filters & Effects
Lighting & Backgrounds (in-game)
Taking an outdoor shot
Hair Stock usage
Advanced editing
Pose creation
and more!
This competition is NON-ELIMINATION! You can't learn anything if you get kicked out, and it's not fair to judge one beginner as "better" or "worse" than another! You're all learning here!
Each assignment will consist of one tutorial you must follow to achieve the desired results. Keep in mind that these tutorials will be based on the way I myself have learned to do them. You may find after you complete the tutorial that you stumbled upon your own method of achieving the same result. This is fine, just make sure the results are the same!
Most of the tutorials will be created by me. Others, I will direct to you videos or documents that I found particularly useful.
We will be using either Photoshop or GIMP. If you've already got Photoshop, you don't need to do anything! If you need GIMP, you can find it here. I will mainly be using Photoshop, BUT I will include any differences for GIMP users, as I have both programs and am familiar with both.
This thread will be for entries and minor discussion amongst the mentors. If you have a question regarding the actual assigment, the contest, a tutorial, or anything else, please go here! There are already a couple questions up, so go check them out!
So without further ado, let's get started!
oThere will be NO NEGATIVITY from anyone, including towards yourself! You will make mistakes. There will be concepts you won't get at first. We're all here to learn, together!
oIf you have a planned absence, please let me know on the Q&A page (linked above) or on Q9 of the survey.
oYou CAN ask for extra time, but please do not take advantage of this! I will be keeping track, and if I see you're consistently asking for more time, I may have to ask you to leave. I really don't want to do that, but we can't hold everyone up or this will get boring very quickly.
oNo questions allowed on this thread. The reason for this is so everyone can keep track of all questions in one place so they do not get lost in a sea of entries and other questions. Please ask on the Q&A page! You CAN make comments on others' work, just no questions or negativity! There's no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to this comp!
