- My current sim works in the military, so I wake him up at 4, he makes the bed, then he eats, does the dishes, and any leftover time he spends watching videos on his phone.
If he doesnt work, he usually sleeps in until 7-8, same deal with the making the bed, eating etc., and then works on his skills.
His girlfriend just moved in at the end of my last play session though so that all may change ;) - IreneSwift8 years agoSeasoned AceI use NRaas Relativity mod to slow down the game clock, so my sims have more time to do things. That was the biggest thing about the game I didn't like, and I probably wouldn't still be playing if it weren't for Relativity. My current household consists of a husband/father in the medical career, who leaves for work at 8 AM, a wife/mother in the music career, who doesn't have to go to work until mid-afternoon, a child-aged daughter, who leaves for school at 8 AM, and a toddler daughter. The school aged daughter gets up around 5 AM and spends probably an hour in the bathtub having a submarine adventure. Her parents usually get up about an hour later.
When the parents get up, the first thing they do is make the bed, each on their own side, then share a kiss and an amorous hug. Then, while the father uses the toilet and showers, the mother gets the toddler up, bathed with the changing table, and dressed, then makes breakfast. While waiting for breakfast, after their shower/submarine adventure, the father works on his latest novel, and the daughter may go outside to play, bake with the toy oven, or play at the blocks table with her little sister. As soon as the mother has breakfast cooked, sets it down on the counter, and heads for the toddler, to put her in her highchair, the father and older daughter stop what they're doing and go into the bathroom or kitchen to wash their hands for breakfast. They eat around 7:30. As soon as each family member is finished eating, the father gets the toddler out of the high chair, the mother puts away the leftovers, and the older daughter cleans up the table and puts the dishes in the dishwasher. Then the father and daughter leave for work and school.
If it weren't for Relativity, my sims would not be washing their hands at all, because with normal sims time, there is no way they can spend half an hour washing their hands three times a day, and still get everything else done that they need to. The same goes for bathing or changing babies and toddlers with the changing station, and several other things there is no time for them to do at the normal clock speed. - graceymanors8 years agoLegendI use relativity mod, but it still seems like time goes by too quickly. What do you set yours to?
- Emily43318 years agoSeasoned AceMy sim works as a stylist and owns her own store. She wakes up at around 4 am, eats breakfast, bathes, brushes her teeth, changes outfits and depending on how long those take, she either heads out at that point or does something for fun before leaving for work.
- IreneSwift8 years agoSeasoned Ace@Springfairy556 Until recently, I was setting Relativity's "set speed" at 28, but now I'm using 19, and I like it a lot better. At 28, my sims still didn't have time to do the little things like washing their hands. I am able to play them much more like real life now.
There is an issue though, with Relativity at 19 and cheap beds. With cheap beds they will be sleepy much too early at the end of the day, and if you send them to bed when they are sleepy, they will wake up too early the next day. Early in a new game, when my sims don't have a lot of money, I use the bed from UL that only costs a little more than the cheap base game beds, but it has a much higher sleep rating. They will still get sleepy a bit earlier than they should be going to bed in order to get up at the same time every morning, but not so much early that they can't stand to stay up until bedtime. I send them to bed around 10 PM for a 5 AM waking time.
I don't change any other settings in Relativity, only set speed. - My sims roll out of bed somewhere between 1 and 4:30pm, unless it's a holiday and they get to sleep in. The two who know how to cook argue about whose turn it is while the others munch on candy bars, old fruit, or cereal while hoping something better appears on the table. All this 4am stuff? The party is just getting started at that hour!
Okay, I'm making all that up. Kind of, I mean one of my Bridgeport households sometimes runs that way.
But if you look at say 15 of my ongoing households, you will find 15 very different morning schedules often depending upon the size of the household, if and how many kids are involved, how much discipline is really required, and what everyone's real start times at work/school are. :)
The Relativity setting I use is 23. - My sims get up an hour or two before work and take a shower. Maybe have a snack to curb hunger so they don't act like they are dying. Sims will eat at work on their 'lunch break' and they use the bathroom at work, so I don't bother with either of those things. then when they get home, they are still mostly full and happy. I spend the rest of the day letting them get their fun up and maybe learning a skill.
- I can't do the morning routine personally. In the mornings I feed them breakfast and then have them do fun things together as a family or alone depending on who is up at that time, what the household is like, and if they need skills worked on. I do bedtime routines instead. Depending on the beds I have and the bedtimes I have to use I start about two-two and a half hours before their bedtime and send them to the toilet, the shower, and the supper table then bed. Sometimes I have to go in other orders (Toilet, food, then shower or whatever) or even wait for their shower until morning in which case I have them keep a fruit or veggie for quick eating before work. It usually works for me. Also, I use no mods.
- Normal sims get up 2 hours before they have to leave. They shower, eat what’s in the fridge (if there’s nothing they eat cerials or bread) and that’s about it. Pets are taken care of when they get home, not in the morning necessarily.
(normal sims I say because genies - a life state I played for a long time - are much faster, since they don’t have to take a shower and nor do others in their household) - graceymanors8 years agoLegendSo interesting to see so many play styles! Thanks for all the insight!
