although I would have to argue and say we might bite on occasion, but not too hard ✘-Make subliminal messages hinting at gifts. Having “I don’t have access to simpoints” and “I really need more children clothes in my game” in the same sentence might seem begging to some even though it’s not technically said out loud.
quoted from the urban dictionary:
1. dry begging
To ask for in an indirect and roundabout way. Dropping vague hints that are not clear or straightforward in making a request.
I saw a this legal case on TV
Sue phones Tom (a good friend of hers) long distance to say "hello.. oh and btw, I don't know when I'll be back home. Seems I missed my flight and I don't have the money to buy a new ticket. I sure hope my boss understands and doesn't fire me! Finances are already stretched" :(
Tom: "well... I could probably scrounge up enough to get you a ticket if you really need it, you could pay me back later.." :/
Sue: "oh, you're so wonderful! Thanks a bunch!" :D
Tom later had to take Sue to court to try and get back the money for the ticket, and Sue's response was that she never asked for the ticket so she didn't feel like she should have to pay him back for something he offered
Sue lost, and I laughed my butt off at her audacity
I don't respond (literally, I just get quiet) in real life and on the forums to this kind of thing. I figure if you really want something you'll ask and if it's something you need... Well if I know about and can do something about I probably already and your just being greedy and if I can't do something about it, I have nothing to say cause I can't help anyway  <--- nervous laughter
