Age adjustments

So I don't like mods or cheating when it comes to aging. All my sims live normal lifespans and if they die, they die.

One issue I have is when a Sim is attracted to another Sim, there is no way to find out how old they are until they marry. My heir is engaged to a guy who I found out is a level 8 in his career. So he has to be near a senior and she is a young adult still. Because I don't think this is fair, I want to set his age back a bit to more closely match hers. What fruits/foods/etc. can he eat to reverse some of his aging?

  • Eating a life fruit (or using the Fountain of Youth premium content from hidden Springs) will set back aging by one day.

Eating Ambrosia will reset a Sim’s age to the beginning of their current life state.

Using a Young Again potion (Generations) will reset their age back to day one of the YA stage.
  • I don't know what packs you have, but there is a youth potion (think it came with Generations). You can buy it with Lifetime Happiness points. When a sim drinks it, they become a young adult. Another way is taking the sim into CAS using testingcheatsenabled true. There you can change their life stage. And finally there's NRaas Mastercontroller that allows you to set their age within a life stage (days).
  • Ah. Youth potion is perfect. It will get them closer in age and then when she ages up to an adult, He can join her. I wouldn't have to do this if they somehow made it so when you can "get to know" a person, you can find out how old they are. Thanks guys! Note that I have all EPs and SPs.

Question: I did find the "youth potion" in the happiness rewards. Does anyone know if someone can purchase that with their rewards and give it to someone else?

EDIT: Yes you can give the youth potion as a gift to someone. BUT, be aware of this: my elder Sim is the only one with enough points to get one. He gave it to the heir by just putting it into her inventory. She gave it as a gift to her fiance before they got married. Once they got married, I checked his inventory and it wasn't there. So reloaded and did the process again. This time, she gave it to him after they got married. That time it was there.

  • Another way to give a day to a sim's life span is to have them take a mud bath using the sauna.
  • @Rhiannon58 I see you have solved the issue by purchasing the Young Again LTR. I'm glad you’ve gotten it worked out!

I just wanted to mention for future reference that you can also obtain the Young Again potion by using the Generations chemistry table (it builds the logic skill). There are 10 potions to discover so it can take some time to get one. But once a potion is discovered you can make it at will for a cost, and a Sim can begin using the chemistry table at the child stage. This method is useful in situations where you don't have (or don't want to spend) 70K lifetime happiness points.
