Can you complete the skill in one world? Currently my Matthew has caught 55%. I know he's gonna need to go to Egypt and China (he already went to France) but what about like the starfish from Showtime or the sewer trilobites etc? Does he need to go to Starlight Shores and Bridgeport or can he find those in Lucky Palms? I haven't seen them yet and I don't want to put in my own spawners 'cause that kinda seems like cheating :p I have nraas traveler so I can send him if I need to, but I just wanted to check first.

You don't need to find all of the fish. I think it's just whatever number is in the base game. 20 or 21 will do it.I usually add the Riverview fish nursery to my games, and add spawners for fish from the WA worlds. I actually try to add 2 of the RV nurseries, one for saltwater fish and the other for freshwater fish. Depends on the world I'm playing and what fish spawners are available. I don't think of it as cheating. I don't think that wish was meant to require travel.edit: some of the EP fish can be caught by fishing in open water (that is, not at a fishing spawner spot). Kissing Gourami for example, and maybe the Sea Sludge.

The SHT starfish and some other EP specific fish like from SN are included in the BG spawners (e.g., Ninja Starfish can be caught when fishing from the ocean rare spawner), and LN ones can be found in open water. When you inspect water, it should say "unknown" if you haven't caught all the types available in that location. You should be able to catch most fish without traveling, with the exception of the specific fish located in the WA and IP worlds.I’ve used Traveler to collect every single type myself though, including the IP ones you can only initially catch while scuba diving. I also don’t consider putting down spawners if needed as “cheating” though, since you still have to actually catch them. :mrgreen:My mermaid Calypso caught all of them due to traveling, and I kept her going until she had all perfect specimens as well. This is why I rarely do challenges, since I tend to “go overboard” when I do! :lol: Using perfect quality bait of the right type helped shorten the amount of time needed to complete the task. The ones Matthew is missing are:-All Egypt-All China-Death Fish (just need to remember to go to graveyard at night keep forgetting)-Robot Fish (have seen from inspection just not caught)-Sea Sludge-Sewer Trilobite-Kissing Gourami -Orange Starfish-Purple Starfish-Silver Starfish-All IP fish-Sea Bat Starfish-Ninja Starfish -ITF Fish (three eyed and rainbow snail)I can then use fresh/salt water and rarity to find them, but I need to figure out which ones he'll be able to find in Lucky Palms and which he'll have to go elsewhere. A lot of the Supernatural ones he found while he was in University. I should note it is also winter atm so maybe I can knock some of those freshwater finds in spring. But except for the robot fish I don't think any of those are in the ocean spawners of Lucky Palms. I should also add that he is level 10 so if it's out there he will get it.@starguru I too am also making sure he gets a perfect quality of each, except he's keeping them in tanks instead of bowls now that the LTW is complete. It's very important to him as he is insane and a coward and in my head not all there mentally and unlike his rockstar and astronaut sisters (triplets) his fish is all he's got going for him. Marissa and Margaret will be able to move out once completing their careers (and relating LTWs) but with Matthew I felt the fish bowl LTW went way too fast so he can't move out til he's got 100% perfect fishies and his little brother Logan really wants to start the 4th generation :P

@starguru :D That is crazy,your room looks like those win a goldfish carnival games.My sim is visiting your town with some ping pong balls.And thanks to your pic which never noticed until now seems the goldfish bowls rocks and plants are different and random in the bottom.That is neat I swear never noticed :o

It does! :lol: Now I want to see if I can set up some goldfish bowls in the games section of a carnival/festival lot to add to the atmosphere; thanks for the idea! :smile: I have always kept my Sims collectibles in WA or CC chests before, but have been making a point to leave extra space in my builds lately for my Sims to display their various collections. I didn’t know about the variety of rocks and plants in the bowls either, until I began placing them in the hayloft of Calypso’s barn. I thought it was a neat little touch too!

I couldn’t say for sure what spawners are in LP. I was playing in a custom world when I did this. I do remember that my sim found sewer trilobites and sea sludges in the open ocean with no spawners in the area. And I had placed the ITF spawners in another world she traveled to so she wouldn’t have to trigger the utopian and dystopian futures for only two different fish types. I think I just put them in IP since I had her travel there anyway to catch the fish you get from diving.

That kind of seems like a good idea. That's a lot of work to do for two fish so those spawners I might put in. The rest I think I'm gonna make him find and catch in their respective worlds.

I've definitely caught the kissing gourami in other worlds. They are available in any freshwater. I'm not sure about the other BP fish (I'm playing in a world without any freshwater or saltwater and haven't been able to check).

I have never found them anywhere else, at least not in fishing hotspots. Are you catching them where there aren't hotspots?

Yes. Non-fishing spawner water. I found that tip on the web somewhere ages back. Maybe Carl's.

I have always kept my Sims collectibles in WA or CC chests before, but have been making a point to leave extra space in my builds lately for my Sims to display their various collections. I didn’t know about the variety of rocks and plants in the bowls either, until I began placing them in the hayloft of Calypso’s barn. I thought it was a neat little touch too!

I've got quite a few spawners for fish in my all season fishing spot below.I've had the Jankowskys visit this spot in Deery Meadows in their first summer back in the year of 1620 as they were building a house on their empty lot.
