Animal age settings, does this sound about right?
I have the humans figured out, but I am having some trouble figuring out what the age span for animals should be that would keep them in alignment with their people.
I started off with NRaas and tweaked the pregnancy from 3 days to 9 days, and that gave me the idea of for each real-time month would be one day in the game, for example, 9 months pregnant for a human equals 9 days pregnant for a sim. So 12 months in real-time would be 12 days in-game time.
The life length setting for the humans: The full lifespan of a human is approximately 73 years equals 828 days for a human sim
Baby = birth - 9 months = 9 Sim Days
Toddler = 9 mo - 3 years = 39 Sim Days
Child = 4 years - 10 years = 72 Sim Days
Teen = 11 years to 19 years = 96 Sim Days
Young Adult = 20 years to 39 years = 228 Sim Days
Adult = 40 years to 61 years = 252 Sim Days (Quite a few people (at least the ones I know, had their mid-life crises around 40.)
Elder = 62 Years - 73 years = 132 Sim Days (People retire around the age of 62.)
I'm not going to worry too much about the pregnancies of dogs, cats, and horses. I'm trying to keep the game balanced, so the animals don't seriously outlive their people, or die too quickly.
With the day for a month, does anyone have any idea on the different life stage lengths should be for dogs, cats, and horses?
Update, this is what I came up with, does this sound about correct, let me know if you see something like age that is off?
Puppy = 0 to 2 years = 24 days
Adult = 3 to 9 years = 60 days
Elder = 10 to 15 years = 60 days For a total of 180 days
Kitten = 0 to 2 years = 24 days
Adult = 3 to 9 years = 60 days
Elder = 10 to 15 years = 60 days For a total of 180 days
Foal = 0 to 5 years = 60 days
Adult = 6 to 14 years = 228 days
Elder = 15 to 30 years = 180 days For a total of 486 days
