When I want to get rid of a sim, I like to dare them to divide by zero. That will set them on fire. You have to be best friends with them and I think the interaction comes with University although I'm not sure. It's best to do it on a community lot so they won't just jump into the shower. However if they have the brave or daredevil traits they will run home to extinguish themselves. If there are other brave sims around they will also extinguish them. Service sims will catch on fire but eventually disappear and show up just fine later on. I don't generally kill sims but my evil sim prefers this method.
