Are the stuff packs worth it?

Since I got a new computer and can finally run more packs, I was thinking about purchasing some stuff packs for TS3. However, since they don't have a gameplay object as in TS4, I was wondering if they're even worth it. Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of TS4's stuff packs, since their only selling point is literally the gameplay object that comes with them, but I am just wondering which stuff packs for TS3 are worth it the most. I have most of them, but still miss a few because my old computer couldn't run them along with the expansions, and those I still don't have are Diesel stuff, Fast Lane stuff and High End Loft stuff. If at all, which of these should I purchase?

I love the stuff packs. I have all of them installed. As well as all of the expansions, and all of the store content and lots of extra mods and things. But I got the stuff packs and expansions first and played with jut them and store content for a few years before adding any cc or mods.
  • If you can get them steeply discounted then sure. I use the jeans from Diesel Stuff a lot. Otherwise it's kind of the most shameless money-grubbing scheme EA ever thought of. We really paid $20 for those huh.

Honestly I only bought them so I could download houses from builders.Owning all stuff packs gives
Me more options for downloading user built homes, yes you could probably download and install houses that use certain stuff packs, if you don’t own them but I rather just own the packs.
  • I wouldn't usually buy Stuff Packs because I always figured I could add "stuff" to my game, particularly what I wanted, by downloading CC which is free. :p

However I know some people do not wish to add CC to their game so for those folks I think the Stuff Packs and Store items are worth purchasing.

I highly recommend the Master Suite Stuff pack, because it adds some very nice, sexy nighties for female and males sims where the EPs greatly lack in that area. (What can I say, I like romance. <3 ) I also recommend the Town Life stuff pack which gives you more playground and outdoor items for your town and Sim's backyard patios.
EDIT: Whoops I see you already have those. ?‍♀️
Out of the 3 you mentioned I've heard that High End Loft Stuff has some very nice items in it and I know of many people that have added it to their games. I have yet to. :p

@Huiiie_07 - If dressing your Sims is important to you, then you may want Diesel which is mostly a stylish clothing pack with a few added (but un-editable) furnishings. If transportation appeals to you - you can't go wrong with Fast Lane. This pack is mostly for car enthusiasts (IMO). The vehicles all reflect and enhance different lifestyles choices from motorcycle riders to luxury car owners. High End Loft stuff is basically a furnishing set which kind-of (for the times) reflect a more upscale type of living environment.

Personally, I like and use them all. But of the three, I would suggest giving High End Loft Stuff a try. The object are well done and can mesh with a variety of furnishings from other expansion or stuff packs. Plus, the electric guitars are a must if you have any aspiring musicians.

@emorrill - Then there are those of us who 'gotta have it all' (well, at least most as KPST was never on my want list)! The size of my CC drive (not folder, mind you) is completely shameful :D!
  • Thanks for all your comments! I guess I'll go with diesel stuff for the clothing items (I don't trust cc since it broke my game lol)
  • Personally i think the stuff packs are not worth it game play wise but, cas, build and buy mode wise they are. It really depends on whether or not you want the items that the packs contain. On my old laptop I had Diesel stuff and that was it really, now I have a gaming pc which is honestly the best thing ever. If you're like me I would get the stuff packs considering you only have 3 left to get.
  • I've got all SPs bar Sweet Treats. I have had them in since they were released and have no idea what each one added to the game but I am sure I would miss something if I didn't have them installed. Then again, maybe not, because I don't build or decorate.

The only one I know I do use on a regular basis is Diesel.
  • I currently have four SP's installed Movie Stuff, 70's, 80's and 90's Stuff, Fast Lane Stuffand Outdoor Living Stuff and I use them for my Sims; I have used clothing from Movie Stuff alongside the clothing choices from Pets to create a Wild West themed Household, while I have used buy items from Outdoor Living in my homes.
  • Short answer: YESSS!!! :) :) :)
