Black Hole

My child sim has been exploring the universe with her telescope, and she discovered a black hole, for which she was paid $10,000! Then, only a week or so later, she discovered another one, and received another $10,000! In my 11 years of playing Sims 3 almost every day, I have never had this happen before. I didn't even know it was in the game.

This is what I love about Sims 3! The little things you never knew existed.

Discovering a Black Hole must be a super rare occurrence, my sims have yet to discover one. When you think about it, space just wouldn't be the same without a black hole (or two)! --Just not together in OUR solar system :D ;)!
  • It's a lot easier to discover bigger celestial bodies if you are an Astrophysicist within the Astronomer career from ITF. You've access to the Stellar Observatory, which is used to discover them. There are some unique celestial bodies related to this career as well, like event horizons, nebulas etc. Plus you get a painting of your discovery! It's really cool!

That would certainly put a quick end to our sims games, wouldn't it?

Thank goodness for that or we wouldn't be here.

Stellar-mass black holes are typically in the range of 10 to 100 solar masses, while the supermassive black holes at the centers of galaxies can be millions or billions of solar masses. The supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way, Sagittarius A*, is 4.3 million solar masses.

Let's just say that everything in the solar system would be vacuumed in.
