Blacked out person when trying to move someone in?

Question

I am trying to move someone in to my household and they have appeared blacked out so you can't seem them, but can see a shadow. Is this a RAM issue or is my save getting old? (coming up to two years) Do I need to restart?
I don't use mods and custom content

I don't want to add to my game as I don't want my game to become corrupt.

I wonder if it might help if we could see a screenshot or two so we can see what the problem looks like? Otherwise we might be offering up a valid solution to the wrong problem.

Sounds like some sort of graphics issue.Have you tried moving your "The Sims 3" folder out and letting a new one spawn and try that way?Have you tried in other saves? or with other sims?

If by blacked out you mean invisible, here are some tips; I think changing the outfit, either by clicking on the sim, if possible, or in a dresser, would be the easiest less disruptive first step:
