It's a poorly managed household that has everyone in it starving at the same time. I generally have one sim at least who can cook a meal without burning it but even they can have an off day. So once the babies and toddlers have been bottle fed because no one wants the social worker turning up, then I make the rest of the family eat the burnt food. Cruel, possibly, but I belong to a generation raised by parents who went through WW2. Meaning we were brought up not to waste food and certainly not to turn our noses up at anything put on our plates. I guess the habit sticks and so my poor sims would be expected to eat the burnt offerings :)
