Maybe. The Intel Core i5 part says you have 64 bit.
I haven't been able to play since I updated to Catalina, since Mac dropped 32 bit support and my specs are similar to yours. But, some people on the forums have said they are still able to play somehow.
EA has said they are going to release a 64-bit supported version of Sims 3, but they haven't announced a release date yet.
Can you direct us to where players on Catalina are able to get the Mac version of the game to run? The only way that should be possible would be if they Bootcamped Windows onto it and are really playing TS3 for Windows. But Bootcamping a MacBook Air with its smaller hard drive and limited specs to play TS3 isn't really all that advisable.
That would require scouring all the threads about 64/32 bit and Sims 3 that I've commented in to try to find the one with that conversation. I don't feel much like doing that, so you'll just have to take my word for it I guess. When I said I had updated and could no longer play Sims 3, I was told that I had done something wrong and that all I had to do was close the error window or something of that sort.
My guess is that the person who said it was indeed able to close the error popup because it was just a warning of the impending update, and that they hadn't actually updated yet. But, as I chose not to press the issue, I don't know.
