But not in the traditional get-a-job, go-to-a-rabbit-hole, way.
This is one of my maids--Darcy Carlise. She's a live-in maid/ cook, working for the Altos. I got her a uniform by entering the "unlockOutfits On/Off" cheat. Just go to a dresser and plan her outfits and you will see the Sim uniforms. Scroll around until you find the maid's uniform.
She lives above the garage and since World Adventures has given us locking doors, the Altos will not invade her private space.
Mine has two small bedrooms since I intended it for a maid and a butler.
I've recently deleted one of the bedrooms and gave the space a larger single bedroom. It's much nicer than this now.
Darcy's traits are Neat/Friendly /Green Thumb/ Natural cook. Her lifetime wish is Culinary Librarian All I have to do is click on the floor and she will get the command to clean the house. I don't have to do more than that. She will clean everything by herself. I don't bother with her cooking in the Altos kitchen most of the time. She has a kitchen in her space and any leftovers in her refrigerator is also available in the main house's refrigerator. I would probably do it if we had the ability to serve meals.
They are a nice touch at formal parties.
And handy for going to town to buy books and groceries. I assign them their own vehicle.
Drawbacks
There are some drawbacks to live-in maids. They don't know that they are maids. They are part of the family as far as they are concerned. So they will walk around in their underwear and get chatty with the family. I probably should experiment with loner and never nude traits.
Despite that, I really like them for my rich sims. It's a big house and the Altos and Wellingtons really can't be bothered with cleaning and taking out the trash. Plus the maids give me something to do while the rich families are away.
Getting Paid.
I could simply have maids work for rent and food, but I put items in their inventory for payment. Gems, precious metals, money bags, art. If I decided to move them out to live on their own, they have a little extra money to get started. - MariusXVI16 years agoSeasoned NewcomerMaids? Isn't that what wives are for?

Only if you live in the 1800s or early. This is the 21st century you know and many women go to work so don't have to time to clean the house. - ck21316 years agoLegend
