- My dad owned a raccoon as a kid, it fell down his neighbor's chimney as an infant, and they bottle fed it & kept it until it ran away for good, but even as an adult, they left it in an enclosure outside to let it out during "mating season" but he would always come back, and run along the headrests of my dad's pickup truck when he drove down the road. Ever since he told me that, and showed me pictures, I've always wanted a pet raccoon, or squirrel (my aunt raised an abandoned litter of them when I was little). At least I can get the squirrel in the game, but I would love to have a raccoon be my pet in the game.
People have all kinds of wild pets, my friend's fiance wants a skunk (he won't ever get one because my friend would freak out, but still, that's his dream in life). I think I'm going to download the cat from the exchange that looks like a raccoon.
& Not ALL raccoons have rabies, so that's kind-of a dumb comment to make. All animals are prone to rabies/other diseases, that doesn't mean they're all infected with it, or that they ever will be.
I absolutely agree with liltab1121, that it's a matter of opinion, it's kind of like being a cat person vs a dog person. Some people like exotic animals, I don't consider raccoons to be exotic and I'm pretty sure there aren't laws against owning them since they're considered pests though there might be.
- Jess - That was ridiculous  its the sims... a game
I would love a pet raccoon in the game! Or something along the lines of a ferret - We kept a fox as a pet when I was growing up. I would have loved a raccoon.
These are pixels, people! It's a game. I love how people are lecturing the OP that raccoons are wild animals not fit to be pets, in a game that allows people to have a unicorn as a pet. If unicorns can be pets, then morally or ethically or whatever your hangup is about, it should be okay to have a raccoon as a pet. - I can't believe people flipped a lid over a simple question of asking if you can own a pixelated racoon in a computer game.
I don't think you can sadly. As others have said, you can save the skin and then in CAP you can "make" one, however it'll meow as it's a cat. Just like in Sims 2. - For the 2 that just went off on LadyElfie for wanting a raccoon in her game, you need to calm yourself. Shes entitled to her own opinion and so are you, but you shouldnt jump on her for wanting one. Do we marry ghosts or reproduce with grim reapers? No. But thats the point of sims. To let you do what you couldnt normally do. Its all in good FUN, so stop being so hateful towards her for wanting things that the sims allows you to do(except for adopt a dang raccon :/ )

I don't understand why Simchick and Liltab are making a stink over how its noot right to capture wild animals as a basis for why we can not have raccoons as pets.
Especially when all the birds, turtles, lizards, and rodents, are technically wild animals. As are the "WILD" horses ad unicorn.
^^ This, and in case someone has overlooked or forgotten, it's just a game.
I would never take in a wild animal in RL as I do realize they belong in the wild.
Just like I would never make a real person fix an electrical item while standing in a puddle just so I can see a ghost. :DSimChick1016 wrote:
Its just not right. There are strays all over the town that need homes and YOU want a filthy RACCOON?
What an absurd thing to say.
There's not a type of pet on this planet that didn't start out as a wild animal. Where do you think dogs came from?
I suppose you think it's totally fine to have a unicorn in a computer game, but not a raccoon. Again I say, how absurd.- - In the cheat bar type ' testingcheatsenabled true ' (without the quotes)
- When you find the unicorn hold shift and click on the unicorn
- Several buttons will appear, but click on 'Add to Active Family"
You can do this with any animals or sims as long as you haven't exceeded the household size limit!
You now have a unicorn! Enjoy! :) - I'm pretty sure you can't have a raccoon as a pet.
- I did manage to save the skin (really weird looking) in the bins lot using my testingcheatsenabled cheat, but it has no options for traits and wont let you save it. I wonder if someone will work a way around this to get raccoons and perhaps even deer in the game if it works the same way.
