You aren't being confined by anything. But, this is a simulation of real life. And whether or not you agree with it, there still are boundaries. In TS3, a raccoon is considered a wildlife creature, just as it is in real life. Accept it or not, but you can't and will never be able to have a raccoon as a domestic pet.
Just because this game does have a fantasy/mythical side to it, doesn't mean that it has to oppose everything that happens or that is accepted in the real world. I actually rather it be that way.
You're probably just mad because the dang raccoon keeps knocking over your trash cans.
Raccoon never knocked over my trash can, just walked by my sim house. As for wild animals. As a kid, I always dreamed of owning a wild animal as a pet. As most state laws require permits, I do not own one. I would like to someday own something called a Fennec Fox. You can find you tube videos of them playing with people's cats. Quite cute.
As I said, by clicking and saving the skin into my bins folder in CAS using testingcheatsenabled true, there is a possibility someone could come out with a mod that would allow you to have a raccoon as a pet. We shall see. I just think it would be interesting for one to be friends with my cat.
