Yeah. I kind of find it odd myself.
Then again, part of it was that it sounded like in interviews that when your sim changed into a werewolf or any other supernaturals through the course of gameplay, that we would also be able to customizes their looks as a supernatural then... sounding like we would be brought to the CAS upon their transformation into a supernatural.
Yet, we do not get brought to such a screen and the appearance itself is randomized at best, without any option to control what it will looks like.
With the werewolf, it is a bit eyebrow rising that you mentions it's literally a different look at every changes, in fact.
I wonder if that's because we were indeed meant to have control over what the sim would look like, but that they also had attempted to put in a system that would make it such that NPCs who would be turned throughout the course of play would get a randomized appearance of their own, so no two supernatural townies of a same "species" would look the same....
and somehow, this randomization system would have borked the ability for player to customizes sims when they are turned into a supernatural as the randomization codes would overides the codes that would have been supposed to bring us to the CAS?
Then again, I don't even know if we're supposed to customizes sims who get turned into supernatural through conventional gameplay(as opposed to created as such in CAS), or if it was just a misreading of announcements and what others players had told me after they'd watched the livechat.
